I just recently bought Super Street Fighter 4 from Steam because it was on sale, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. I remember playing a lot of the Tekken series when i was younger, but now after playing Street Fighter non-stop I find Street Fighter and it's characters to be a lot more colorful, and the combat more complex and enjoyable. Feel free to also add your favorite character, my favorite character still remains to be Heihachi Mishima from the Tekken series, just because of how amazing he is, but Zangief from Street Fighter is a close second.

Right now it's UMVC3 . I like the fast pace , 3 on 3 , blink and it's over adrenalin rush it provides . The characters are all unique and look great . The game play is fun . My main team is X-23 , nova and Dr. Strange . I like the concept of building a team to your liking from a massive roster , sure some characters are better than others ( *cough*virgil *cough*), but every character is useable if you build a team around it . I have even gone to a couple of local tournaments and didn't do too badly .

Back in the day my game was Street fighter alpha 3 . Man i played that game to death when i was younger . If capcom was to release an Alpha 4 i would be all over that .

Blazblue is my favorite fighter. I also play Persona 4 Arena and Guilty Gear. I tend to prefer the more flashy and anime-themed ones over the more slow-pace and overly footsie-oriented ones like SF. Also I tend to dislike MK9 and Injustice since they lack things such as legit hitconfirming and also due to the way they tackle blocking.

Here's a vid of BB (in case you don't know much of it, it's not the most popular game), it's parts of a mini tourney I participated in a while back. My games start around 8:20. :D

BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena, I just love the way ArcSys handles their games. I would have said UMVC3 a few months ago but really, fuck that game. I know everything was broken from pretty much Day One but that was a funny, endearing kind of broken. Now it's just tragic. Infinites everywhere, the online community is still full of complete cockbandits (technical term) and the mechanics themselves have been broken completely.

I've discovered I VASTLY prefer single fighters instead of teams. Because y'know teams are just begging to be broken.

I play Labrys and Aigis in P4A now. I'm actually legitimately good with Labrys now (shut up I am. I have a high damage Labrys combo that ISN'T autocombo spam! It ends with a super too!) and my Aigis is getting better. I can be that Aigis who is just goes high, low, high, low, high, low, low, high in one unbroken chain until you fuck up your block changes. Because Orgia Mode is hilarious.

I like how pretty much every character is designed with crazy rushdown pressure in mind but the games makes it fair. It gives you ways out of it and getting cornerlocked until you die is your own fault because you can actually do something about it if you're half decent. Full game cornerlocks are still BlazBlue's thing. Everybody needs an Origins dammit.

I had to give up Shadow Labrys because you just try playing Labrys and Shadow Labrys at the same time. Try. Shabrys is still the coolest but she has to be the most technical in the game because of how her Shadow works.

I play Mu-12 in BB and barely anything else. I would play Makoto if she had any range at all, really I would. Give her ONE good ranged/get off me move (Space Counter doesn't count it's hard T_T) in Chrono Phantasma and i'm there. I play some Tsubaki on occasion literally because her music is so fucking awesome. She should be easy to pick up in theory but no... Just no :/

Makoto has Corona Uppercut. It's a legitimate reversal with invincibility, use that lol.

(also hurray, Aigis main here too, Labrys is my sub too, what are the odds lol, as for BB, you can see my main above!)

Love Soul Calibur. Just hate the Dreamcast controller for fighters and have never had the money to fork out for some nice arcade controllers.

I pretty much stick to Street Fighter II/IV for 2D fighters, while Tekken 2 and Dead or Alive 2 are my favourite 3D fighters. After that, I have a unshakeable obsession with Rival Schools, even though I'm not very good at it.

I'd love to say fighters are my main thing, but I'm no where near as good as most people on the internet. Many times have I embarrased myself on XBL playing SFIV.

I'm not that good at fighting games, but I love them all! My most favourite 2D fighter is King of fighters '99! Also most well-known SNK fighters like Samurai Shodown 4, Last Blade, Garou. Capcom, Arc System Works and Netherrealms' fighters are not bad either.

For 3D, it's Tekken, Bushido Blade 2 and some Western sport fighting games like Fight night or UFC undisputed.

Zeno Clash, an indie Source game on the PC with a really unique art style.

It's really cool because all the fighting takes place in first person.

Well for 3D fighters my favourite is Soul Calibur on dreamcast that game just got so much right the series has never been as good since and I dont think it has been matched in 3D fighters either. Favourite ones this gen would be Soul Calibur 5 and Dead or Alive 5 (prob Dead or Alive 5 as they decided to rush SCV and destroy its budget the idiots, it could have been amazing dammit, while DOA5 actually finally upgraded the DOA gameplay and aesthetics which it sorely needed after the disappointing 4th entry).

Favourite 2D fighter is much harder its between Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Darkstalkers 3 and Persona 4 Arena. At a push I would still say turbo is my favourite.

I have liked most 2D fighters this gen though SNK and Arc in particular have really stepped up their game and Lab Zero created a great game for their first fighter (waiting for Squigly now). I used to be all over Capcom releases and while they have been enjoyable this gen (mostly) they have seriously dropped the ball SFIV and MVC3 in particular failed to live up to their heritage imo, Nethersoft have come along nicely though even if I still have issues with their games. In fact this gen apart from SF X Tekken and Arcana Hearts 3 I have enjoyed every 2D fighter I have tried so thats something.

I havent played Aquapazza yet though.

I'm stuck choosing between Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Skullgirls.

While Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is an arcade classic that I find myself playing over and over again, I really like the characters and artistic style of Skullgirls. Skullgirls is also the fighting game that actually helped me get better at more traditional joystick fighting games because of the reliance of joystick movements and specials to do well in the matches.

My favorite characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 are Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Morrigan, Felicia, & B.B. Hood.

In Skullgirls, my favorites are Filia, Peacock, and Valentine (as well as hopefully Squigly).

The Super Smash series. Easy to pick up yet with a lot of depth.

Soul Calibur for the same reason.

Super Smash bros.
Rather than focusing on ridiculously long and arbitrary combos, the game uses simple button presses for special/smash attacks so the focus can be more on timing and positioning, rather than memorization. That's what fighting games should be like, I think. Other fighting games have focus on timing and positioning as well, but that really only matters once you master those long ass button combos that can vary so immensely between characters.

I like Blazblu for the VN parts, Persona 4 Arena because Persona, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom because fancy things happen when you mash buttons. I can't pick an overall best.

For my favorite characters, I can't choose in Blazblue. I play best with Jin, but Ragna and Taokaka are fun character. In P4A it would be Naoto, she's my favorite from the game and I can play her. In UMvC it's Dante, because he's sexy in any game (except the new one, ugh). Total fight game champ here.

If we are talking about those, which are played today, I'll go with Blazblue CSII:Ex. POWER OF SCIENCE!
If not, then King of fighters 2002 UM. My team is Terry, Mary amd Iori. Mary, why? WHY are you not in part XIII, dammnit?!!

Also, honorable mention goes to Def Jam: Fight for New York on PS2. It is one of the best casual fighters I've ever played. Character creator and story mode are nice too.

At the moment it's Tekken Tag 2, I've been a Tekken fan since I was a child and tag 2 is my favourite in the series.

Tekken 6 on the PSP and Persona 4 Arena because I needed to see what happens in between Persona 4 and 5.
