My favorite little known band is a Norwegian band called Vamp, they are big in Norway but unknown for most people elsewhere.

some other band i enjoy that are mostly unknown are (these aren't necessarily unknown but few people i meet seem to know about them):
-Minor Majority
-Eternal tears of sorrow
-Wintersun
-Pagan's mind
-Falconer

The Protomen.

Super goddamn epic Megaman rock-opera. It's a shame they aren't more well known. ><

Sordid Dawn. My friend showed me thier site the other day, I think they just put it up and nobody knows about it. It's the best metal I've heard, and nobody freakin knows them! :p

I'm pretty into this local band called Mellows. They're sort of 8-bit-folk-rock. Or something. Give 'em a listen!

They're pretty fun to hang out with, as well :D

Well I know a couple of. I'm a metal and rock fan and there are many really awesome bands here in Finland. Mokoma, Stam1na, Viikate etc. They sing in Finnish so.... And also Poets of the Fall which is an awesome band too. Some of you might have heard of them.

They actually have a decent amount of fans but there are still a lot of people who haven't heard of them.

never heard of Girls? nor have the rest of the world. just thought i would spread the love :) let me know what you think!

anyway. what is your favourite band that no one else has heard of at the moment? would love to hear what cool bands there are out there.
my faves are:
girls,
death from above 1979
+ Elbow (dont know anyone outside of the uk who knows of them)
LOL at Elbow...their name always makes me laugh. I wish I liked them more.

OT: Astronautalis is pretty awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGOjoeRq9Ik

Chase Long Beach are a pretty funky female-fronted ska-punk band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVHiX8vA3NU&feature=channel

Lower Than Atlantis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpCCfg6Affg&ob=av3e

I want to say Death By Stereo and HORSE the Band but i imagine more people on here know who they are than my friends do....

EDIT: I forgot Phinius Gage..they are probably my favourite British punk band (too bad they split up before I managed to get to see them) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2DQo_MpEMU&feature=related

I am sick of Poets of the Fall lol...my friends just constantly played them to the point that I neevr ever want to hear their songs again. I enjoyed them before they got overplayed though...wow that was years ago.

The Protomen fucking rule. I got into them a few years back after hearing about them through the Dueling Analogs webcomic. Same with Astronautalis actually...huzzah for Dueling Analogs!

A band called Sulek. Ever heard of them? No?

This is their song Oregon, accompanied by an epic hand drawn music video, as all of their songs are.

I'm not sure if they are a really little known band but my favourite would have to be Unloco. They broke up in 2003 I think it was but they are really good imo.

HEALTH, actually not that obscure. Just not mainstream or very well recognised at least not in the UK. Did the Crimewave track with Crystal Castles. (I love Crystal Castles!)
saw them live along with crystal castles last week :). not too shabby :D

Ha! I know Elbow, and I'm in America. I have Grounds for Divorce and Leaders of the Free World on my mp3 player. What do I win?
you win...
pride that you know of a relatively obscure band outside of the U.K.?

Awesome, I saw them just over a week ago as well. Roundhouse Camden, you? I was so bruised after that gig! Was unbelieveable, met Alice afterwards as well.
