Avarice for several reasons

1) No one else has picked it
2) You put 'greed' down instead and I'm nothing if not a nitpicker. There is a difference between the two because it's not on every internet list of the seven deadly sins because most people don't like the word.
Avarice was in the game Afterlife so I think it's supposed to be on there instead of greed. As (think Simcity except you manage heaven and hell)

Anywho. Avarice is basically hording wealth and power just for the sake of having it and not doing anything with it. Kind of like being a cheap bastard. Greed is just wanting lots of stuff which falls under envy.

I definitely horde my money and refuse to spend it even when I don?t need to. Just the other day I got in an argument with my lady on how I felt it was unnecessary to plant flowers in the flowerbed outside our house and that it was too expensive. I lost.

I'm pretty sure avarice is just the Latin word for greed.

Yes, as stated they are very similar words but not exactly the same.

Greed  
(noun) excessive or rapacious desire, esp. for wealth or possessions

A quick websearch yeilds that Avarice has it's origins in French and Greed in Ye Olde English or ye Olde German they aren't sure which.

Hmm... I dont intend to brag but I don't think I belong to any one catagory. I'd say I have a bit from each of the seven since I consider myself a well rounded person. But the most prominent would be wrath, maybe not openly but some people just piss me off.
