You show me someone who say's they want a good personality or a sense of humour and I'll show you a liar. All attraction is based on physical appearance. You may be drawn to certain aspects of their personality/intellect or whatever. But attraction is what sparks this off and is what keeps it going. Pure and simple.
I disagree. For me, it is usually the other way. Sure, all the girls I have liked have been beautiful, in my opinion anyway, but a lot of people I know don't see them that way. To be honest, I didn't at first either. But the fact is, the word beauty doesn't actually apply solely to looks. To quote Urban Dictionary:
"Beautiful is a woman who has a distinctive personality, one who can laugh at anything, including themselves, who is especially kind and caring to others. She is a woman who above all else knows the value of having fun, and not taking life too seriously. She is a woman that you can trust and count on to brighten your day. She is a woman who can inexplicably make you feel really good just by being around her, and yet brings such great sadness when she is gone."
Yes, that ~was~ probably written by some guy who was just dumped, but that is irrelevant.
Is it just me, or do us Escapists talk about relationships more than games?
OT: My type:
~Black or Brown hair
~Caucasian (Not trying to be racist, but I've never really liked anyone who wasn't Caucasian.)
~Cute
~Pretty (Yes, there is a difference between those two)
~Kind
~Caring
~Crazy
And if she's a gamer, even better.
Picky? Yeah, probably. But I discuss things on an internet forum; I don't have any chance in hell with anyone.
Fun, entertaining, possessed of a sense of humour that is both dark, satirical, wacky and surreal. She must be honest, authentic and genuine. Interests in common would be nice, a co-gamer, sci fi geeky movie fan who likes occasional football (proper football) games. Passionate. Knowing her own mind and being fearless about expressing it.
The chick version of me. Although I would probably want to kick my own ass and her moustache would be a bit off putting when we make out.
She'd beat me in an arm wrestle, wouldn't she?
Myself, I look for someone my physiological equal: someone nerdy enough to share my interests and get my references; someone cynical and twisted to share my odd sense of humor; and to put it bluntly, someone clever enough to keep up and not just say "Buh?" half the time
Unfortunately that basically means I'm looking for a clone of myself, but hey, that would be just fine
The hot librarian look. Preferrably brown hair and curvy (like the new girl in my Marine Ecology lecture ;] ), but I'm not too picky. I have had half a dozen girlfriends of all shapes/sizes/types but I have never had a hot librarian despite it being my favourite type. (nor have I had a geeky one...which is now a requirement to date me due to many relationships failing due to lack of shared hobbies)
tldr; glasses on girls are hot! so is brown hair, curves and geekyness!
Totally not coming onto you here, but I have to agree. If I could meet a guy who didn't think my obsession with serial killers was excessively creepy, that would be great. Although I can't blame them for backing away when I start gushing about where Ed Gein kept assorted body parts, or how I think it's awesome that Jeffrey Dahmer bleached skulls and painted them.
I swear I've posted in this kind of thread several times now. I like guys who are confident, have a sense of humour, and are willing to put up with my whining. Something like that. I'm pretty flexible with everything else.
Smart and/or fun to hang around with. It'd be cool if they were a little geeky too. It's better if they seem cute rather than sexy.
Looks are very low on the priority list, honestly. As long as they look decent, then it doesn't matter a whole lot. I'll end up thinking she looks pretty anyway if I like her.
