Well WatchMojo is like the number one cause. I always seem drawn to them at like 2 in the morning and will stay up watching them for a solid hour.

Though that was technically serious, if we want dark edgy serious, work related stuff can keep me up. Especially if I think I made a mistake and it's the night before I go back to work. I've stayed up a few hours because of that.

I work 10 PM to 5 AM so work keeps me awake most nights
I've always had trouble sleeping. Crushing self-hatred, depression, anxiety, an over-active mind (it. just. won't stop. thinking.), and just plain old being unable to get comfy.
I toss and turn a lot. I'm too hot, I'm too cold, this position makes me lose feeling in my arm, this position makes it too hard to breathe, etc.

Sometimes I get sudden "rage attacks" when I'm trying to sleep. I just get extremely angry and my body starts to pump adrenaline. When that happens I want to get up and fight someone, not sleep. I have no idea why it happens either, it sucks.

The fact that I'm a nightowl and mornings are for sleeping. People that get up all energetic and cheerful in the early morning are batshit crazy if you ask me. And yes, if you are wondering, I have the worst case of grumpiness in the morning. So don't happily good morning me, it's bloody early morning, there is nothing good about it, now please don't talk to me till atleast 11 am and when I've had atleast a whole pot of coffee.

The growing suspicion that even well-intentioned groups are looking for someone to marginalize, demonize, and/or ignore out of hand. Rather than trying to figure out how we can all get through things together, an awful lot of people seem content just to re-configure who is considered "we", and to try to claw a larger slice of a diminishing pie for those they so identify.

With that, the gloomy feeling that my daughter is going to come of age in a world that's more hateful, violent, intolerant, impatient, and certain that listening is someone else's job. Even as the standard of living I've been incredibly fortunate to enjoy is pulled out of the reach of her and most of her peers. (Looked at the price of college, lately...?)

I think it's a mixture of stress and anxiety.

Been trying to work on my draft of my book but I keep procrastinating. Considering I have no job, every day I don't work on it makes me feel worse. Couple that with people having high expectations of it despite never having read my work before... well, it's terrifying. I suppose I'm afraid of having to rewrite the whole thing or that it's going to be terrible as it took a year to write said draft.

To think I want to make a career out of it and follow my childhood dream but I keep putting it off.

I have to work nights on the weekends, but it's a job with lots of walking around, so I guess the "go on autopilot" keeps me awake.

Whereas what prevents me from sleeping is me thinking about sleep. I don't know why, but it just makes me paranoid that I willingly knock myself unconscious for an unspecified amount of time and I just don't like that >_>

It's a thing. Worse, I have a condition that makes me need to use the bathroom a time or two per night. There's something called "preparation dreams". Your brain realizes you need to sleep so it tries to convince you that you are doing something that requires your attention. You're hungry? In your dream you are eating. Only works for so long.

As I have to use the bathroom in reality, in my dream, I cannot go yet because I can't find one (or in one odd dream, the toilets were on a ski lift and I couldn't get comfortable). To distract me further, a naked lady may be in the way telling me I don't want to leave her for the restroom.

I don't get enough sleep, but I'd be awake anyhow, doing something else, I'm sure. I work so very much, and play is necessary.

I have far too much to do usually, and I am usually up all night worrying about the next day and trying to get as far ahead for the next day as I can, even though the amount of work I do seems to be rather insurmountable at the moment. I do really like my job however, so I suppose that is some sort of consolation.
