Just wondering what models/brands of keyboards you forumites use - wanting to get a new one to replace this old beige thing and was hoping to get some reccommendations of good ones.

I'm looking for one that's not *overly* pricey (not much over £30-40, unless it's *really* excellent) and I'm not *too* bothered about gaming-specific keyboards (macro keys would be a nice bonus, but not essential). I really don't like laptop-style keyboards either - I like my keys to have a little substance to them.

Was considering getting a Saitek Eclipse III, but I can't for the life of me find a place that sells them in the UK. :(

Maybe it's too tall an order with my requirements, but I thought I'd ask anyway. :)

Also wanting to know whether wireless keyboards are OK for gaming, or does it depend on which model you get? I've heard the reception can be temperamental at times.

Thanks for your time. :D

Microsoft with the ergonomic curve.

It doesn't curve/split the keys like they used to. Damn me for dropping a drink in to my old MS Natural.

My hands are wrecked, I'd be in agony if I had to type on a flat/straight board.

The Logitech G15.

18 programable keys that can be programed on the fly or have definitions associated with Apps and loaded automatically when the App starts. I've got 3, one one my work system, one one my main home systems and one on my backup home system.

Yeah, I had a look at the Logitech G-series, but I think they're just a *little* bit too expensive haha Are they really worth the money?

The default keyboard that came with my computer. I don't really play enough games on here for it to matter what I use.

I use one with tiny little letters written all over the keys.

Some keys are larger than the others.

Currently I'm using a crappy Acer OEM keyboard. See my friend gave me his old Logitech G11, but proceeded to accidentally spill hot soup on it about a month later. So it was nice while I had it but it is now fried. I'd like to get another Logitech G11 or a G15. It's great for gaming, it has media keys and macro keys... it's prefect for my needs. Though the G15 costs about $60(CAN)

The one in my laptop, which annoyingly doesn't have a pause button, so playing Homeworld 2 is damn near impossible on anything but easy.

Just the one built into my Laptop.
Which is a Compaq Presario btw.

I actually just got Halo 2 for my Laptop(even on the lowest settings its kinda laggy but playable, i need to get a new Graphics Card) and i don't like the controls.
I need to get used to them.
I borrowed a friends Xbox controller for a bit and i really really like it better than my Keyboard.

I use a logitech Wave. It's slightly curved so it's comfortable, but not drastically different from the regular shape. I also like the built in wristrest and the big shortcut keys. I have them mapped to things like Steam and Photoshop so I can say "Lets play some Games!" and hit a giant button.

For playing games I use a G13 Gameboard which is like a mini keyboard you can map the buttons to fit a particular game as well as record Macros. It also has the same LCD screen the G15 has with cool programs that can show your CPU usage, Core temperature, RSS feeds, Twitter posts, Weather, etc. Some games are compatible with it and show information such as Health and Ammo. It also lights up different colours.

EDIT: To be honest those keyboards are on MY PC, but I'm using my parents old Acer laptop which has a broken Keyboard. So I'm typing on a mini USB keyboard that is really hard to use.

This isn't my computer, but it's a Dell. Mine used to be wireless but decided to stop working, even when I replaced the batteries.
Now it's one of those flat key ones, can't remember the make though. It cost under £20 I believe.

The Logictech Illuminated Keyboard is only $40-$60 and they sell it at most bestbuys...idk if they have best buys in the UK though...it has a controllable glow that has 3 levels of brightness and an off level as well...feels nice and looks cool.

Ah here it is http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/4740 It says $79.99 which is how much i payed for it but the price has dropped to about $50 at my bestbuy store...wasn't to pleased with that but owell.

A $20 Dynex that I bought at Best Buy. My Dell stock keyboard finally met its end in a very Homestar Runner-ish fashion (as in I spilled Mountain Dew on it).

Well, I can't say I like the colours of the newer G15, but my G15 v1 is still a beauteous slab of human-computer interfacing technology. The G19 appears to be the ultimate in QWERTY-based bling, though. If you have the money to throw away, buy one.

I would recommend a Logitech, even if it's not a G15 or anything that expensive. My school (schools being masters of buying the worst shit) even managed to get some comfortable Logitech keyboards.

A quick check of google reveals a not-unresonable keyboard with media keys for only a few pounds, or dollars if you're some strange colonial type.

The old school G15 with the flippable monitor. I've never found use for 54 macro's but I'll be damned if I don't have them. I also really like the back light. My wireless keyboard is the Iogear GKM551R it has some weird features like a pen holder... but it has really long range, so I use it when I feel like watching a movie from my laptop to the TV.

I have the keyboard that came with my first, brand new computer. Which was probably a good...3/4 years ago. I like it because the editing keys (End, Insert, Home, Page Up, Page Down, Del etc) are right next to the arrow keys with no gap inbetween. It was great for my keybinds with games I was very much into.

It's very dirty and needs a good clean :S

And the Enter button sticks a lot :D
