Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000

It's a keyboard. That types things. For 20$. All I need.

It also has media keys and a nice curve. Both are extras that make it even more of a steal for me.
This.
Great value for monry.

I use the Microsoft sidewinder x4.

Got it new on amazon for 45 bucks.

Red adjustable back-lighting, macro keys, anti- ghosting, all for a nice price.

Ha, basically the only computer I use is a laptop, and I like laptop keyboards more than regular keyboards (though it has to be adequately sized, the keyboards on netbooks are abysmally small). The buttons aren't protruding out so much, and they're easier to press.

Plus, when you press a button on a keyboard, it can get sort of...stuck onto the...frame...thing. Ah, fuck it, I've no idea what I'm talking about.

But still, I like them more. Also, to answer your question, I'd just go search for some lower-end Logitech keyboard.

Saitek - Eclipse - Blue

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823175104&cm_re=saitek_eclipse-_-23-175-104-_-Product (closest i could find)

I do like it as the blue backlight, black body and silver keyes matches the theme of my PC

However.. Ive found for some reason, it used to cause me to make typos that i would not normally make on a more standard random keyboard. I cant figure out why though, as the key layout is pretty standard in its own right.

Only real complaint I have is the silver keys are simply painted translucent keys, which the paint wears off after about a year or so.. so on some keys I cant tell by looking at the keyboard what the letter is. However its been about a decade since i had to look down at a keyboard, so no biggie.

Honestly, its nice, but the illumination wasnt worth the 35$ extra I ended up paying for it, over top of a random keyboard.

I'm using a logitech s510...

I got it very cheap, like $5 on sale, but in all honestly it's one of the best keyboards I've ever had, even if it does eat up batteries like nobodies business...

I've got Logitech G19 and I'd have to say that thing is awesome. If you do decide to spend a bit more (AUD$399) then go get one! It has a tiny screen!!! What more is there to say!

The Logictech Illuminated Keyboard is only $40-$60 and they sell it at most bestbuys...idk if they have best buys in the UK though...it has a controllable glow that has 3 levels of brightness and an off level as well...feels nice and looks cool.

Ah here it is http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/4740 It says $79.99 which is how much i payed for it but the price has dropped to about $50 at my bestbuy store...wasn't to pleased with that but owell.
In Britain, we get ripped off technology-wise - that keyboard is £55, but you can get it for as many $ :( However, the keys are too flat on that one - looks too much like a laptop keyboard. Thanks anyway :)

Well, I can't say I like the colours of the newer G15, but my G15 v1 is still a beauteous slab of human-computer interfacing technology. The G19 appears to be the ultimate in QWERTY-based bling, though. If you have the money to throw away, buy one.

I would recommend a Logitech, even if it's not a G15 or anything that expensive. My school (schools being masters of buying the worst shit) even managed to get some comfortable Logitech keyboards.

A quick check of google reveals a not-unresonable keyboard with media keys for only a few pounds, or dollars if you're some strange colonial type.

QWERTY-based bling :p I like your expressions.
Schools are *always* the masters of shit-buying haha I know what you mean.

I'm currently using a Logitech keyboard (wired). Don't really know more about it. I really like it actually, even though it's quite old. I like how the buttons are very low, so to say. They're almost on the same level that the edges of the keyboard are. And in games i found it quite helpful.

For example, with this keyboard in GTA SA, i was able to do workout at the gyms at level 10. I once tried a normal keyboard for quite a long period of time, but never got to even level 8.

Anyways, yeah, i like this one quite a bit. Even the colors are nice, the sides metallic gray and the keyboards black. Basically the same color-scheme my screen, mouse and speakers have.

I use a microsoft natural ergo keyboard 4000. I pretty much had to get this because my hands start to hurt after too much online gaming but with this thing forcing proper posture it's not an issue anymore. (has good key pressure and doesn't feel awkward really).

Just wondering what models/brands of keyboards you forumites use - wanting to get a new one to replace this old beige thing and was hoping to get some reccommendations of good ones.

I'm looking for one that's not *overly* pricey (not much over £30-40, unless it's *really* excellent) and I'm not *too* bothered about gaming-specific keyboards (macro keys would be a nice bonus, but not essential). I really don't like laptop-style keyboards either - I like my keys to have a little substance to them.

Was considering getting a Saitek Eclipse III, but I can't for the life of me find a place that sells them in the UK. :(

Maybe it's too tall an order with my requirements, but I thought I'd ask anyway. :)

Also wanting to know whether wireless keyboards are OK for gaming, or does it depend on which model you get? I've heard the reception can be temperamental at times.

Thanks for your time. :D
I have a razer lycosa, expensive but very nice, it does have a problem with the touch media panel however, which occasionally (once every couple of weeks) causes a key to stop responding, you then need to unplug and re-plug to get it working. A pretty major flaw in a gaming keyboard but i'm still pretty happy with it.

I would avoid saitek, a mate of mine has one and the keys are crappy and stick, plus the keys are painted and the paint wears off, though this is true for most lit keyboards.

As a rule I don't do wireless keyboard or mouse, I see no advantage and plenty of potential problems.

I use a Saitek Cyborg. Aluminum-coated wasd, space, and arrow keys, backlight that can be adjusted for 5 regions with different color and brightness, and big macro buttons on either side.

It's pretty awesome.

I picked up a nice HP keyboard for not more than 10$. It sounds sad but the thing is unbreakable and has, for me, perfect key depth. Oh yes and clicky keys.... I love clicky keys.

The Lycosa visually looks quite impressive (love the blue lights).
And yes, I prefer a wired keyboard - I have no need for wireless and you have to buy batteries.

Found the Microsoft SideWinder X4 - it's got macro keys, is small enough to fit on my desk, has a backlight (unfortunately it's red and not blue or green or even purple :p), seems good for everyday typing, and the main point, not too costly. :) Anyone had one before?

I feel that metal-coated keys would be too... distracting for everyday typing, but I love the backlights, and Cyborg mode :) And it's too big. And it's too expensive. haha If I had more money/space, I might go for it. Though it's little cousin (Eclipse III) is more up my alley (though, as I mentioned, I can't find one in the UK :( ).
