I'm thirty and this forum at times makes me feel geriatric.

Also, Music. It's an instant "feel old"

Realising I have lived in 3 decades and I am only 17.

Going to my old school and seeing how small the Year 7s are these days (British citizen, for your information. Also not a paedophile, just the kids being MUCH smaller is an observation)

Remembering events from around 10 years ago and realising 'That was 10 years ago?!'

Oblivion came out 5 years ago, and I recall saying how the graphics were the greatest thing ever...5 years ago.

The first day of comprehensive school is clear in my mind...despite I'm in my second year of college.

The fact that the N64 is now considered by some to be a Retro console.
where I live the fuckin original xbox is considered retro by stores just because its not made anymore! THAT makes me feel old, i'm 19 ffs.

what REALLY makes me feel old though is that the first harry potter film was released in 2001!?

It may seem silly, but anytime someone mentions a pokémon past #252.

It doesn't make me feel "old" (I'm not, really), but its a reminder that people are growing up with very different feelings about what "retro" and "all that old stuff" is.
but I kida agree with this.

Most of the time though I don't get the time to feel old, because every adult around me treats me as a child.

One time I told my friends how I liked to play Duke Nukem back when he was 2D sidescrolling, and I copped a few "old" jokes for that.

I was 11 years old at the time

Well, when I think back to the time where you couldn't be on the internet too long because it cost per minute to be connected... And remembering the first PC we had (it's still out there in the garage <.<) with Win 98 (which was considered really high tech) and a BIG box, twice the size of a standard computer today, as a monitor. I still have a TV about that size (in other words, really small considering its age) from somewhat that era next to me to remind me of when we thought it was cool with tv's not taking up half the room. I'm 18 this summer. <.<

O.O Seriously? That long ago? I remember when I got the first book for my birthday, way before it was even known here in Sweden (it had just reached our cold corner of the world back then) and I remember getting the second film from a friend in English with no subs (sorta pirated now that I think back at it... His dad worked at a film company if I remember correctly) and actually understanding most of it... Am I really that old, or is time really going this fast..? <.<

I'm 20 on Thursday, that makes me feel old.

Or I'll think of a game that came out in 2002 thinking it's really recent then remembering it's 9 years ago :/

This. I remember 9/11 intensely. My younger brother doesn't remember it at all. That day I explained what it was and why it was such a big deal and how people like me remember it was probably the only time I've ever felt old.

(The rest of the time I just feel ridiculous because it's not younger people who confuse me, it's my own generation! Whaddaya mean you starting using the internet when myspace was the big thing? I hit the end of the mailing-list era and grew up on forums!)

ETA: o_O I just realized that I remember when Google hit the scene.

Well, at 23, I can't say too much, but I did feel really old a few months ago when I was walking to a friend's house with SNES games and neighborhood kids asked what the grey things were.

Furthermore, I feel old when I have to actually explain blowing into a cartridge...

When I was a senior in high school, I became close friends with a couple girls. One became like a sister. One I, admittedly had a bit of a crush on.

I'm now 22.

The one that's like a sister now has a child that is almost one year old.

The one I had a crush on I have recently reconnected with. It's no longer a small crush, as she's grown up now and is damn beautiful, and I came clean, told her I liked her, she's thinking about things, and we agreed that even if nothing happened, we aren't going to get awkward. In her words, "we're all adults here!"

When someone I met when she was anything but an adult says that, and when another girl I met at the same time has a daughter, I feel freakin' OLD.

Yet, I still know I gots plenty to look forward to =)

When I sit and ***** about how awful cartoons are these days (With the exception of the new My Little Pony cartoon...seriously, it's what the power puff girls were)

My friends kid sister turns 18 in a month or two...I remember when she was in braces and was shy to talk to boys.

And I'm only turning 21 in July...I've decided that as of July 22nd (the day before my birthday) I am no longer aging.

Yeeesh...I am 23-and a half. Though, I wonder if I really feel old, or just that things change quite rapidly.

Then again though, I do have plans to retire somewhere up in the mountains and live like an old mountain man.
Or feed the grizzly bears.
