I think Modest Mouse's newer stuff gets too much love, but their older stuff deserves a lot more.

Everybody says this, but I rather liked We Were Dead. Some of their earlier stuff was hit and miss, but The Moon and Antarctica is still one of my favorite albums.

I love how Brock is always very rhythmic with his singing, even in a softer, more melodic setting. Very musically subversive.

Porcupine Tree - Without a doubt the best prog rock band on the planet and the best band to watch live. Tight, good mixing, excellent light show. Made Iron Maiden look like amateurs.

This. Gavin Harrison is my favourite drummer, and in my opinion, the best one.

Gavin Harrison is definitely the best drummer alive today although Mike Portnoy is also amazing but he doesn't use his skill to the full extent that Harrison does who is the best prog rock drummer for what? 4 years in a row now?

Umm... He's one of the world's most famous guitarists when it comes to guitar nerds. He started G3, for God's sake. I think he's appreciated enough.

John 5 (I knows he's pretty famous, but people over look him a lot)

Finally, somebody knows this guy. I'm a die-hard fan of him, and he's so unappreciated. But I think the reason for that is that he's not been a long-term member in many bands. He's more of the guy who works in the back, who doesn't stand in the spotlight. Which is a shame, cause he's so skilled.

OT: As mentioned, John 5. Also, Adversary and Engel. I bet nobody here knows who they are.

Moon and Antarctica is one of my favorites too. I would consider anything from Good News to the present to be their newer stuff. It's still pretty good, but not when compared to the pre-Good News albums.

I think he's in Rob Zombie to stay though, they seem to work well together. Also Zombie seems to give John a lot more time in the spotlight, like I saw a vid where he does this crazy-insane 4 minute solo in the middle of Thunder Kiss '65

Yeah, Portnoy is good and his drumming sounds quite nice, but he hasn't trained almost any lately. His timing isn't nearly as tight as it was some time ago.
