That's a good way to go. One of friends is named Heinrich, but he goes by Hank.

My name's ok, but my last name sounds a little...old and is quite rare in the UK (as far as I know) but is well distributed in the States (my last name is Springthorpe).

If I could change my name I'd probs change it to something Anime-sounding, but it still remembered some semblence of normality. I don't really have an examples, so I guess I'll stick to what I've got.

Of course I do it is my surname after all.

Like Demon. My friend and I would bicker constantly and who gets to have that name when we were younger, so I made my own way of saying it. Personally I think it's quite clever really...
