There are plenty of sea monsters that are equal to or larger than the kraken in size. Heck by most representations (which is usually slightly larger than a large frigate) there are things in the real sea bigger than the kraken. Blue Whales for example. Although to be fair some representations of the kraken put it at several miles in diameter which would by far make it larger than any animal that ever lived.Baldur Moon said:So yea if you could be any animal, fictional or otherwise, what would it be?
As a fictional animal I'd be a kraken cause being in open ocean scares me silly so being the biggest thing in it, and having everything scared of me would be nice for a change
As a real animal I'd go for a polar bear because I love cold weather and sleeping a whole lot while occasionally mauling civilians... plus bitches love polar bears right?
As for mythologicall creatures
You Have the Aspidochelone (Island Turtle) which as the name suggests is the size of an island
You Leviathan which in some stories is as much as 300 miles (482 km) long which is crazy and dwarfs the kracken
You have Jörmungandr aka the Midgard Serpent from Norse mythology which circles the entire globe which is even more insane and dwarfs the Leviathan.
Then of course you have roughly equivalent creatures like Charybdis and Scylla and a slew of others.
Also fun fact the Kracken was originally depicted as a more crab like creature.
Personally I always like shapeshifting creatures (ones that can alternate at least between their form and human form. If I had to pick I'd probably say the Kitsune/Nine-tail fox. They are fairly neutral swinging both to good and evil spectrum pending on the individual/story, are powerful, and in some accounts capable of reaching omniscience.
Real Life creatures I don't think any would do. I like the advantages of being a human and I don't really think I'd want to become any other animal. If I had to I'd likely choose either a Blue Whale or an Raptor of some kind (Modern Bird Raptor capable of flight).
