Well, the natural progression is that they start taking bigger and bigger jumps in time back and forth. Either they'll make Grand Theft Galactica, or Dead Crusader Justification.
In the former, you play a rogue ex-Spess Mehren doing... stuff, in the latter you play a rogue ex-Crusader fighting the Church in... I dunno, some big city. Yes, the Crusader one has a mission named "Br1ng 0ut Y3 D3dz!!!1!1!"

I'd like to see Grand Theft Auto set in Maine. I think the next step for Rockstar would be to create interiors for most buildings. I've always wanted to stroll into someones house and shoot them while they're jerking off. Silencers as well. I want better stealth.
A medieval GTA with mostly melee combat, the horse mechanics of RDR, archery here and there, proper old school hunting, castle raids, medieval bowling with cousins etc.
A three-dimensional remake of James Pond...
I really have no idea, its hard to speculate, though I'm sure that a GTA 5 will be in the works... Maybe a MMO version of the series?
