Aesop's Fables. Who didn't read/have this read to them when they were a child? It does a better job at teaching morality than say the Bible (or substitute) and has a cheese stealing crow in it.
Definitely. It would show kids what society could be like. Excellent choice.xXAsherahXx said:1984. God damn is that book so great. It would make kids aware of their society, and what it could become. It gives out lessons about staying yourself and keeping your identity.

Ironically, my teacher had the exact opposite impression when she assigned that book. She insisted it would change our lives and that it would be most inspirational thing we've ever read.AdamRhodes said:I agree, I really liked this book in high school. My teacher warned us that probably nobody would like it. But it might've been my favorite book in high school. Way better than Catcher in the Rye. What stupid, lousy book.
Catcher in the Rye for me was completely boring and dull except the scene in the museum where the whole message came out and slapped with a fish. That pretty much was the only part when I went "oooooh that's why people like it"Innegativeion said:Ironically, my teacher had the exact opposite impression when she assigned that book. Despite that, I have to say I really didn't like that book. I feel it very poorly represented its supposed message, and I just found the story overall uninteresting and pointless.
It used to be on the curriculum, my mom read it. I picked it up for myself and now it's my favourite book of all-time.Da Orky Man said:Definitely. It would show kids what society could be like. I read it in school too along with Fahrenheit 451 (maybe 5 years ago).xXAsherahXx said:It used to be on the curriculum, my mom read it.
