What single player games should have online game modes?

Hitman. Trying to either race to assassinate a specific person, bodyguards versus assassins, or co-operating in some epic-scale hit. Would be fun. I imagine it being like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, somewhat, except with more stealing of clothes.

Mages would kill everything. I should know. I always am one.

OT: Ace Attorney games. MULTIPLAYER LEGAL BATTLES!

Or not.

Having a buddy with you could possibly make it less scary. You know, since you wouldn't be all alone in a dark, creepy-as-shit town.

OT: None of them except maybe Oblivion, because that could work if done right. Or Spyro, if Insomniac developed it because they actually know how to make a Spyro game, unlike everyone else.

Just got it recently and it's Mount and Blade. It's basically what Oblivion's combat SHOULD have been and it doesn't have any lame magic. It reminds me of a cross between oblivion and a total war game.

Not multiplayer per se, but a MMO game from that universe would be nice. Like Jak's universe and the Fallout universe.

I hate to say it, but a Mass Effect 2 online component would be fun. Before you crucify me, I think it would work because it would be a great squad oriented shooter. The Cover and fire would be great to put two teams of 12, and have a a player play as Shepard. Players would (within reason) obey Shepard's commands.

The first game that comes to mind for me is oblivion elder scrolls 4.
No, an MMO would change the format of all prior TES games. It wouldn't be TES.

I would love a TES MMO, as long as V is still released as a single player game.

Tell that to my Mundane Ring and Spell Breaker combo, along with making a silence for 40 seconds potion with my mad Alchemy skills. Mannimarco was dead before I even hit him.

I think the total war series needs more than just multiplayer battles.
^^^This. Especially the first Medieval total war could have benefited from the fact that all armies movie simultaneously on the campaign map when the player ends turn. The only problem I see is that the computer would have to resolve most of the battles and it's notoriously unreliable (although I guess real-life generals can be as well).

Thought about competitive fallout 3 as well, but would be tough to effectively work VATS into that...

Tell that to my "you gotta hit me first" 100 speed, 100 acrobatics NINJA MAGE. Also with Conjuration 100 to keep you fighting off big bastards.

Mirror's Edge should have vs online multiplay mode, would be awesome, they could have racing or a cops and robbers sorta thing or even traditional death match if the got the shooting right with the free running

Gosh, that game had real potential didn't it

Assasins Creed, both coop and "Find the other assansins and assasinate them"-free for all

Enclave, preferably large scale (40 - 60 players) battles / sieges

Oblivion / Morrowind might be fun, but probably wouldn't work withoutm assive changes to the game.

Not that I think it could ever work well, but I'd love to see a co-op Mass Effect. If they amped up the combat to make it easy enough to die and therefore necessary to depend on your allies, it would be great.

The thing is some of these ideas like the assassins creed and oblivion one are already in production.

OT: I would like to see some co-op in fallout 3 and AC and Oblivion, sounds realllly like a good idea and if done right could chage online forever

I've made the case before about how Pokemon could blossom into a really amazing series if it went from a single player RPG thing to a MMO. A lot could be added. New pokemon and shit can easily be DLC. More than just being a trainer could be available. Stories could be established. The game could really be something awesome if it was made into an MMO. Plus you could go to more than one region without having to buy three fucking games.

Actually that could work quite well, given that you always run around in a team of three, and that bioware is working on a Party-Wide Dialogue system for the Star Wars mmo.

I was going to say Bioshock but Bioshock 2 has it covered.

Hmmm, let's see what else?

Assassin's Creed CO-OP mode. Not competetive, CO-OP.

Yes, that would be fun, if you could travel to other people's islands and have more control over your minions...
