I feel ya. I play games Like No More Heroes 2 and Muramasa because the single player is awesome. No More Heroes 2 has an unlockable multiplayer mode for local play only.
Never played those! Are they RPGs?

I can see the attraction for games like Crackdown or Saints Row 2 that are lots of silly fun, but Fallout 3... just no, no, no.
Muramusa is a Side scroller Action RPG.

Assassin's creed. Assassins vs. Templars

Gametypes:
Assassination: One target on the map, constantly moving (NPC). Assassins try to kill him, Templars protect him

Treasure hunt: 5 treasures scattered around the map(s) and first to recover 3 win

Conquest: BF2 style. Cap flags for points. Kill each other to hinder other teams progress.

Stupendously violent... that looks really fun.

Anno1404. Most of you won't know what that is, but the lack of online play/lan completely killed the game for me. My understanding is that the new one will include lan/multiplayer, so heres hoping all will be well.

Dead rising :p I think dead rising 2 is though :D
Oh man, that's a great call. Running around a shopping centre with a few mates and a few billion zombies? Wicked.

I agree with Oblivion Co-op, and Assassin's Creed 2 multiplayer.

Another one that I'd like to see is Mirror's Edge multiplayer. A game mode where runners must deliver a package as fast as possible, perhaps passing it around and working together, while the police respawn in front of the runners and attempt to take them down. There'd probably be many different places to respawn and you could choose different distances so you could set up more complex plans with your teammates. That'd be great.

Assassin's Creed 2! One of the game modes might be all the assassins in a free-for-all in a tight, enclosed space. Just think about all the clusterfucking going on! XD

When I thought about it earlier today, I just laughed.
yea that would be tight.

Or not.

Having a buddy with you could possibly make it less scary. You know, since you wouldn't be all alone in a dark, creepy-as-shit town.
So the game mechanics wouldn't work just because theres another player involved? good thinking.
Or not.

Did I say anything about game mechanics? Not really. In case it wasn't clear, what I meant was having someone there with you makes it less daunting than going alone, which personally would ruin the atmosphere of Silent Hill for me.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would have been fantastic to go through in co-op mode. But like the devs said, the engine couldn't do it due to syncing issues. (something like that anyway)

The only way I would like to see multiplayer online from now on is allowing a massive sprawling world, in which you are presented with millions of quests, only some of which are repeatable, and if they aren't repeatable, only one person from the player base can complete them, and then they are taken offline.

Yes, I know it would never get made, but it would also be more realistic. Worlds where there is only one true saviour of the world, rather than four thousand who all save the world at different times, suggesting that whoever saved it first did a really bad job if it needed saving again when annoying 14yo number two came along.

Resident Evil is not Silent Hill. No matter how much they may or may not be alike, Silent Hill is very much a different game. Either way, though, I did add the whole "personally" thing at the end there in case you might pull something like that.

If done correctly, it would turn out a great multiplayer, that's all.
OT: A offline multiplayer final fantasy would be awesome aswel, although it would take years of brainstorming & designing.

Lets just imagine this for a moment, it a stalker MMO,but there would be a point behind backstabbing fellow stalkers for artifacts and whatever, faction wars, mutant raids. yeah, but when theres lots of guys running around doing the same thing, it would kind of detract from the atmosphere, which is why its an awesome game
