I would like to try and match the character that we've been seeing on those trailers all this time. Want to make it look exactly like him, including the helmet he wears, with the same race and class as shown within the trailers (sure, not a lot is exposed but I can try right?) Would really be interesting to see how that would roll out when I play.

Then again, I probably will go for a different class overall depending on what they offer at first.
Given the basis for this game, it's probably a Nord.

Probably my Argonian Assassin, who will use Illusion Magic, Bows and the occasional dagger.

Either him or my Nord Turtle(Heavy Armour, Dual-Shields)
Apparently you can only assign shields to the left hand. Kind of sucky, considering some people might want to make a left handed character.

... ... Why do I have a feeling you're going to go around killing Argonians for...? *Looks at your Avatar* .. Anyhow yeah, I remember from Oblivion they did that too. And the most common race were Nords. Usually, but one city had a nice set of random races. That was in Anvil.
I'll only massacre the Argonians if they disappoint me. That is to say, they'd better have suitably reptilian animations to go with that epic rebuild of theirs.

I'll be a viking, a shield in one hand and an axe or sword in the other all the while wearing light armor.

I may try being a turtle at some point too. (double shield)

Wow, way to make a thread about a video game into your own little private religion bashing. We're discussing character classes for Skyrim. Your vitriol is unneeded and unwarranted.

OT: Probably going to play my usual warrior type. Of course, they'll be handpicked on skills. Heavy armor, Blade, Shield, Destruction, Acro, Athletics, Speechcraft, and whatever else I decide to throw into the mix.

I'm not even thinking about what class or race I am going to play. I'm going to experience it all fresh and new. I'm going to check out character creation, and just make what I find appealing at the time. It doesn't really matter anyhow, I'll be playing it more than once.

Wood Elf, two daggers, a bow and a quiver full of dreams.
I will be a Rogue. Silent as a panther, quick as a grey fox, swindling everything and everyone like a pharmaceutical company.

No coin is safe, no body to heavily armored for my well placed blades.
As I travel the rooftops my feet wake no occupant. As I break your lock not a single pick is broken.
The shadows serve me as I serve them.
All will fear me, many despise me, but they will never know the person beneath this hood.
I am the shadow without a body.
I am the last person you never saw.
You planed this speech long ago didn't you :D

I will use and break the game with alchemy like I always have in the Elder Scrolls games.

By buying, stealing and collecting ingredients I will max my alchemy skill sometime in the first few days of playing and from there I will bankroll my way down easy street.

Other than that I will play with sneak, security, athletics, acrobatics, blade and barter or speechcraft.

An alchemical thief.

Woodelf Ranger. I use my bow mainly, with two short swords to fall back on, and a bit of healing magic.
my default class, light armor

i dunno but this is what it's gonna be like running into me:

your walking along a trail for whatever reason and the 'WSSSHhhh' an arrow hits you in the side of the head. You turn to face me and then you get another one in your noggin. so you start running towards me and after a few more arrows you finally make it to my position when....i pull out my sword and i slice you open. >8D i then take all your crap and leave your naked corpse in the woods to get raped by a bear...kind of a staple but whatever..hehe

kind of want to have a samurai/jedi/etc. inspired fellow...if i could have force push..hehe.....whens this game coming out? damnit...

i really can't wait to take out some nerd aggression on this game....hehehehe...

I think it'll involve a female dark elf, daggers/short swords, sneaking, alchemy and ice magic.

I'm going to be a Redguard hunter-type character. No magic. I'll focus on Archery, Alchemy, Barter, Light Armor, and Sneak

Probably an Imperial wizard since in Elder Scrolls, if you have good magic, you can do pretty much anything in it. Alchemy is a license to mint money, restoration keeps you from having to buy and carry all of those pesky healing potions, illusion can make you invisible for those fights you need to avoid, destruction allows for ranged spells of utter...well, destruction, and alteration lets you use feather and carry more.

My last guy in Oblivion was an Imperial wizard and I didn't take sword or armor as skills and by the end of the game, indeed, probably only about halfway through my playthrough, if that, his light armor and sword skills where maxed out.

I had two weapons, a Daedric longsword that I called Kindness, which was enchanted with fire, ice and lightning damage 5-10 damge over 5-10 seconds (depending on which one, they varied) and Ranged Kindness, which was the same thing, but in a ranged spell. I enchanted my armor with Feather and a ring with Chameleon 100%, so I was completely invisible with the added bonus of being able to attack and remain so.

With magic, there's really no need for all the hassle of trying to repair and all that stuff because you're not typically getting within striking distance, and if you do need to repair and whatnot, the potions you can make more than cover the cost.

I'll be a warrior mage. I have to be a mage because I love making potions and stuff like that. I will spend countless hours just collecting ingredients and experimenting with potions. I'm so pissed that spell making has been removed, but I hope for mods to fix that.
