At the risk of generalizing:
- Almost every woman has insecurities about her appearance.
- Sometimes, they make an dress up and make an effort to hide/disguise the things they don't like.
- They then go out with the sole intention of getting (positive) attention, from men and other women.
- This makes them feel a little better about their appearance.
A woman blanking you is very rarely personal. Superficial, perhaps, but not particularly egotistical assuming they politely decline your advances.

OT: Seriously though, calm down. Not all girls go to clubs to dance with guys, some just like socialising, they might have boyfriends, or have been peer pressured into it.
Or all the more likely they're just not into you or your friends.

I can only speak for myself here, but the 2 hours of getting ready before going out are really fun. Looking good makes you feel good, it's a confidence booster. Hell, when I'm sick, I go put on makeup and something nice to wear and I feel better.
And maybe these girls aren't out to pick up men? Maybe they're waiting for their friend to come back from the bathroom. Maybe they've just been dancing for a while and are having a breather. Maybe they're just not all that into you.

I'm joking, but in the end, ask a lady to answer a question about ladies.
Why sit in the corner? Honestly, as someone who doesn't do that, I can't give you too much of an answer. But, my theory is, go down this list and pick one:
1. They don't want to hang out with men. Seriously, they are not necessarily there to dance with guys, pick up guys, or even interact with guys. I would be thrilled to go to a dance with my lady-friends, and if we're together, I'm not going to suddenly dump them for some guy to dance with. I'm going to stay and interact.
2. They're self-conscious, maybe. They may like the club environment but don't know how to dance, or don't feel comfortable dancing, and they're just getting into things. Maybe they feel out of place. Maybe they just don't want to try it right now. Whatever it is, they have their own speed, so let them move at it.
3. They're picky. I.e. they will dance with a guy, but not you and/or your friends. They're looking maybe for a specific type, and it's not you.
This is mostly anecdata -- well, "what would my reasoning be," rather. So, if you want to find girls at a club, maybe you should look for the ones who are already participating, rather than angsting about the ones who aren't.

Wait, is this a "why are you ladies being unfair with me?" thread or a misogyny thread? I'm rather perplexed.
I don't go to clubs. I have better things to do, like hang out with my boyfriend and play videogames. I'm not sure the type of women you're talking to or want to date are the kind that go to the places you're going.
As a guy who goes to clubs every now and again but doesn't dance much unless I'm feeling extra confident, let me tell you why I go there - My friends.
They Like going to clubs, they like dancing and at least half the times they go out they go to clubs (the other half being bars/pubs/parties which I will almost always go to). Usually I'll pass when they ask me because I don't dig the atmosphere at those places but sometimes I'll be like what the hell, I want to hang out with my friends.
I don't really like dancing at clubs (it's different at parties and such, much more close knit of people and far less of them), I am kind of self conscious and can never really let go and groove in those kind of places (though I do sometimes if I'm having a really good time or if a girl asks me, obviously). So yeah maybe that's the reason? Either that or she is super picky/has a boyfriend and he isn't there.
I can't say much for the whole sitting alone in a corner thing though, if I'm not dancing I'll be sitting at a table talking to my friends and other acquaintances.
As for the dressing yourself up thing, it is a pretty standard practice from what I gather - regardless of the situation.

You are probably doing it wrong, in nightclubs you arnt supposed to talk to girls, you should just start dancing with them.

Maybe they do that because they don't want to be asked to dance, and simply enjoy people-watching and hanging out. Personally, when I go out, I do so because I enjoy it, and having strangers coming up to me when I'm just there to have fun with my friends just serves to detract from that. Also, those women might enjoy dressing up and looking good because that's what they like, not because they want to attract anyone or please anybody else.
So women aren't allowed to go to clubs to hang out with their friends? Why do guys think everything ladies do is for them? Not all of them dress up for men, some dress up because it makes them feel pretty and more confident, or do it to impress their friends. When girls go to bars/clubs they don't always want to pick up a guy, some want to have a girls night out or just drink. Is it that hard to understand?

No I don't do that. Why? I know 18-2X Ladies are SUPPOSED to do that but I don't know why myself.
To meet other drunk, socially embarrassing numbskulls with nothing better to do that evening? The world will never know. At least...I won't know. I prefer staying in and working to that kind of scene. And who knows, I'll be able to support myself instead of dressing up like a peacock to attract an idiot with some cash to mooch off.
