Shut... the... fuck... up.

I'm serious the escapist is a horrible place to those who express any thought with which you can disagree. This is of course assuming you take internet anons as important people. Which you do or you wouldn't be joining a forum.

You know what screw it, just don't click the links.

Warning: By coming to this forum you accept the fact that people native to English will bastardize it and people not native to said language will speak it fluent.

We dont care about your relationship issues, girlfriends that just dumped you, friends that stole your girlfriends, friends that stole the girl you never even said hi too, friends your attracted too, how you feel about someone, how nervous you are at approaching girls.

If your going to start a damned relationship thread it better be about how the girl you met last night turned out to be a guy.

PLEASE: Do not just make up random threads, or another one about halo, we know you'r thying to get those cool badges when people post a lot in a thread you make, or get 1000 views. seriously USE SEARCH BEFORE MAKING ANY THREAD to see if there is a similiar one.

I'd create a thread with this, BUT i feel its against the spirit of the this. paradoxal, no?
or i one could analogize it to police chase, speeding to get speeders, but i am not the police, i'd just be a guy in a crown vi who cut off the speeder, sending his tahoe into something hard, and badly injuring the perps. and that would greatly raise my insurance priemiums, because i would definately be 'at fault' for my vigilateism

I'll probanly give em the useual greeting: welcome to the esscapist, don't do threads about: halo, zombie appocolypse, religion or cntroversy and we'll all be happy people. the less we use the banhammer the better cause it leaves dents, dents are not good for resale value

Of course, the guy with the George Carlin avatar.
--------
- Don't post stuff without re-reading it.
- If you make a thread with an internet meme as the foundation, you will be shunned by the community.
Oh no don't worry I've been suspended three times for both those things :)
Yeah, good ol' George wouldn't do well here.

Don't EVER use texting shorthands. Nobody wants to see "lol", "teh" or anything with "zorz" on the end of it.

And don't comment on any threads involving religion, politics, JRPGs, or Halo until you have been here for a month and made at least 50 posts.

New guys:

1. Do not make Halo threads. no matter how much you want to.

2. Please wait until at LEAST fifty people have replied before YOU comment on a video.

3. Choose a group. Its nice to make friends, and this way you can fairly quickly.

Watch out for people who take things too seriously here. They're really quick to anger, while funny sometimes, they risk you the ban-hammer.

If you could warn a new member of the Escapist, what would the warning be about.
Well...

Two threads to handle carefully: Halo and religion. The Escapist is full of people who hate Halo for no reason other than "it's popular" (which is a horribly stupid reason to hate anything, but no accounting for the sheep's behavior: interesting how going against the flow now is the flow). It's also full of people who hate religion: unlike the Halo haters, some of them actually have intelligent reasons for this, though I've seen more than my share of people who simply hate religion because it's what they've been taught.

I wouldn't say avoid these topics, but handle them cautiously. Personally, I enjoy a good debate, so I usually post whenever I see them: I just usually try to make sure my posts are intelligent and well-written, so I'm actually encouraging discussion rather than just feeding the trolls. But those guys will eat anything, it seems...
