I was playing games long before this, but I think that Doom was the official game to truly suck me into the gaming world. It was one of the first games that I got really good at and played quite often.

Probably Medal of Honor Allied Assault. It was the first game I played online multiplayer on, and I was hooked. I still have fond memories of blowing people away with the bazooka on dm_stalingrad.

Sonic on the Master System II. What a game. Didn't even need a cartridge.

But I think it was Lylat Wars on the N64 that clinched it for me.

As cliche as it probably is, mine has to be Super Mario Bros for the NES. That's the first game I ever played, and it's what really got me into playing games in the first place.

It's got to be Impossible Mission on C64. The first game I ever got obsessive about beating. Then once I beat it, I got obsessive about getting better times. Or possibly David's Midnight Magic pinball (also C64) which I played until the score wrapped back around to zero.

i instantly fell in love with games and can't even remember which one made me a gamer. it was probably an arcade game. i will always remember my first time playing Super Mario Bros, though.
