The only one I saw was Morrigan/Lulu. The rest... not so much. I thought you'd connect Sten with Auron, but you didn't. So yeah, I really don't see it.s69-5 said:Really? You can't see it?Tohuvabohu said:I'm sorry, but can you explain this?s69-5 said:The characters they say! I say, generic fantasy characters. Most are copied from FFX....
Sten = Khimari (stoic warrior)
Allister = Tidus (whiny ***** with "royal" father)
Morrigan = Lulu (bitchy ice queen and a mage to boot)
Leliana = Rikku (upbeat foreign girl)
Wynne = Yuna/Auron (dutiful, mature)
Logain = Seymour (betrayer, antagonist, power hungry, sees it as saving the country)
Sadly, they were also done better in FFX.
Of course lets not forget the LOTR stuff:
Darkspawn = Orcs (obvious)
Archdemon = Sauron (I see you)
DA:O was a collectiopn of ripped off ideas.
Bioware is the most overrated developper in the industry.
Saying Wynne is the same as Auron...I really don't think so.
Rikku the same as Leliana. Definitely not. I actually think Wakka has more in common with Leliana. Both are religiously driven, foreign, upbeat, and have a knack for ranting endlessly? No????
Tidus and Alistair. One is delusional, overinflated sports ultramegastar, and far too whiny and forthcoming about his daddy issues. The other is a snarky, yet religious and sheltered, nervous, lacks self-esteem, whines when held responsible for anything. The only thing these 2 have in common is they never shut the fuck up.
As for the antagonists. Well... Seymour was completely insane at this point, probably due to being dead, and wanted to explode the entire planet. He wanted everyone dead, to 'save' them from suffering.
Loghain thought that Cailan was foolishly seeking battles with Darkspawn and wasting the lives of his soldiers, as well as allying with Orlais (Which Loghain fought hard to kick out of Ferelden, now Cailan was inviting them back in) so he let Cailan die. He didn't want to destroy the planet, or his own country.
I've heard the same thing - said about Mass effect squad members, and FF7 party members. I think it's more to do with trying to fit characters into archetypes, which doesn't always work, and I think it's a coincidence when it does.
DA:O being a rip of LOTR is one thing, but saying it's cast of characters were copies of FFX characters is something I do not see at all. Sorry but I really truly don't see how the cast of characters of both games are copies of each other.
