last book I read was Animal Farm, anyone that hasn't read Animal Farm/any of the George Orwell books should really change that, excellently written, albeit a tad short (I may just read fast but it is only 100 pages) and is a book that will compel you to keep reading.

Strictly answering your question, I loved reading Nineteen Eighty-Four a few months back. I do not see it as a matter of pride for me having read it, but more a matter of shame for everyone who has NOT read it!

I have read a dozen other books after that, none worth mentioning (currently reading Twilight of the Dead)

Don't really read much fiction, last one I tried was Brave New World, it's a cool book.

I see some people mentioning 1984, I think this book is interesting for them, it has a somewhat different approach.

I'm currently reading Jane McGonigal's Reality is Broken and it's something that gamers especially need to read but I think holds value for anyone. It's pretty damn awesome.

Storm Thief, it's the last novel I remember reading and it was quite good. I want to read Mogworld next.

Coming Up For Air by George Orwell. It was really good, but I just love his style of writing. I'm also about to read Fahrenheit 451 and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea... some classics that I never got around to reading but I definitely should have.

"1984" is excellent if not a little depressing. "Stranger in a strange land" is a book that I only suggest for someone who considerer themselves well grounded because it will throw you on your head if you are not ready for it. "The Count of Monte Cristo" is probably my favorite book, but it is long has a lot of characters, and the plot is a little slow for most people. If you are looking for a series that will soak up all of your spare time for the next few months and if you like fantasy then try "Lord of the Rings" series if you haven't already read it. Eragon is also good and if falls into the same genre. If you like science fiction and have an abnormal tolerance for boredom have a go at the "Dune" series; I could only get through the first one but it is still worth a look. also pretty much everything by Robert Heinlein is good and the same goes for Michael Crichton, that is if you like science fiction.

Forever War, by Joe Haldeman. Passable science, interesting concept, could have been significantly improved with better characters.

Just finished The Great Gatsby.

Can't figure out why Nick didn't just leave the crazy rich people to their crazy richness and find normal people to be around.

Uncle Toms cabin. I didn't get to finish it to my deepest regret. I'd love to read I robot and Watchmen, but they are kind of hard to find here.

World War Z by Max Brooks. Simply fantastic.
And now I'm reading a classic, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... I'm in part 3/5 right now.
