1983 original Macintosh.

I can still hear it's creepy start-up noise in my nightmares.
These were the graphics:

That's really pretty damn good for the early 80s, but had no color.

and how old are you?

I'm 21, and my first system was the ps1 :)
You know that well known internet video of the Kid going crazy over getting an "NIIIINTENDOOOO SIXTY-FOOOOOUUUUR!" well that wasn't me, but that was very much like me.

And I sucked at every single game on the system.

I honestly played my Bro's Playstation much more as for some reason I was better with the controls or maybe the games were simpler on PS1 and I could handle them.

Looking back it's hard to imagine I struggled with the likes of Goldeneye, when I introduce new people to gaming I have to remember that they are essentially in the same place I was 15 years ago. Always sucked at Tomb Raider... but I loved it. Even though it took me a day to complete a level that takes me all of 20 minutes today.

Duke Nukem: A Time To Kill.

I liked that game. I could play it as well even as a wee kid and frankly I don't see what is so inappropriate about it. Girls in bikinis? Seen them on TV all the time, and worse.

Second system was PS2 that was so-so but the system I really fell in love with was PC, on my dad's PC and on internet cafe's PCs playing Max Payne then later Max Payne 2 and Counterstrike, those were the glory days.

Either the SNES, Windows 95 PC or the Atari but I can't really remember too well for the latter.

Super Nintendo. I would play Earthworm Jim and Earthworm Jim 2 on that thing all the time, and then later Super Mario All-Stars and Kirby Super Star. My best friend at the time also had one with F-Zero and Super Mario Kart. Good times, good times...

So glad I still have that old thing.
Ooh, I had Earthworm Jim for the PC. Also had Nightmare Creatures! Anyone heard of that one?
I played loads of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (the best one), Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong: Country and this scope game... can't remember what it's called.

It's funny; my mum was the one who got me into gaming properly and her grandad on her mum's side got her and my aunt into it! With Pong... the original game! :p

The first one I tried? I honestly don't remember, it was probably the NES or the SNES. When I was five I landed myself in the hospital for about two weeks, and they brought in and hooked up our SNES for me. I was really into Mario and Super Widget.

21 by the way.

Also, does anyone remember Primal Rage? It was a popular arcade game, and I had it on for the Sega Genesis. They need to bring that back. Fuck yeah super powered dinosaurs.

My family had an NES and a SNES back in the late 90's, but MY first console was a Dreamcast and my first game for it was Sonic Adventure.

I still love the Dreamcast and I still love Sonic Adventure! Hell, most Dreamcast games have better graphics than most Wii games, over 10 years later. That should tell you something about the power of the Dreamcast! The only thing the system lacked, and what probably helped seal its fate, was a second thumbstick. Without it, FPS's had very awkward control schemes. For instance, Fur Fighters and MDK 2 had movement mapped to the a, b, y and x buttons. Seriously.

If it had another thumbstick, I'm 100% positive we would have seen more games on it and it would have had a much longer life than it did.

I received a Sega master system on my 5th birthday. I don't remember whether it was like this with all of them but mine had an inbuilt game, Alex the Kid. I bloody loved that thing.

A PC(belonging to my parents) was my first.

After that was the n64, I must've been around 8 at the time. I got snowboard kids and ocarina of time. It was great.

But I always come back to my PC. <3

I'm 21.

17, and mine was the original xbox. I waited so long for that, and used it so much, it's sad that it just sits in a closet now :(

The playstation got me into gaming for life.
