I loved it. It was probably one of my favorite Mario games. Something about seeing Mario covered in sludge just made him look so frickin cool.
it was different when that happened but shunshine was half third person shooter half colorful patformer, it would be like taking cambos out of fighting games, its still fun but its not the sametk1989 said:i personally thought it was best when they took away fludd.zombie711 said:I liked it. I dunno, i enjoyed the game, but it was sunshine that made me realise that i had outgrown mario attributed to how easy the game was. I felt let down because i had strived so hard to finish Super Mario 64, it was challenging and i really felt like i had accomplished something when i finished it. I did not get that feeling with sunshine.
I will concede this point. I love that theme!Assassinator said:Also, SMS has the best incarnation of the Mario tune EVER

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by what seems like a general appreciation for the game. For the record, in case I wasn't clear, it's not that I hate the game - it's just that it never really "clicked" with me. I keep trying though, and maybe one day it will work out.Balderdash said:I loved Sunshine. I can't understand the bad reputation it gets, it is my favorite of the 3d Mario titles, and I did play 64 when it came out. I was not a fan of Galaxy all that much, it was not quite as fun as the others.
This is true, and an annoyance about a lot of games. Like I said, I'm not trashing this game, but I probably am one who likes the traditional mario formula more than drastically branching out. Who knows. Also, the paradox of criticism most likely stems from two different masses of people complaining: there are some who want the game to never change, and some who want some drastic reinvention every single time, but since they are both faceless internet crowds, it's hard to distinguish between them.Librarian Mike said:What frustrates me regarding this game is people who rip on Nintendo for cannibalizing its franchises, but when they try something different, like this game, it gets trashed for not adhering to the 'Mario formula'.
GAH! Curse you!!! i had that tune out of my head!!!! i was free!! until now...Assassinator said:I loved it, a lot, a LOT. I used to spend hours just hopping and hovering around Delfino Plaza listening to that fantastic soundtrack. I loved the colourful island, it's my favourite Mario game ever. And I do like the other Mario games, but this one was just so delightfully colourful and refreshing (something you don't often get in a Mario game), it still makes me smile.

I loved those special stages, so so so much.
