There are a lot of major gaming sites out there, and most run a yearly awards show. I suspect Skyrim and Portal 2 will both pick up a few GOTY awards.

2011 is going to be a great year (it has been one so far), but for me, Dark Souls is going to clench it. Demon's Souls was one of the greatest games of this generation, and Dark Souls looks to capture its spirit perfectly, highs and lows. It could get away with a GOTY nomination by doing just that, but it looks like instead that it's aspiring to be something even more.
I think Skyrim is the favorite for GOTY, especially with Mass Effect 3 moving to 2012, that makes me think it will win. LA Noire might have a run at it, but I don't think it will overtake Skyrim. I will also put in Saint's Row The Third in as a sleeper pick of mine. It probably won't even end up as a nomination, but the game looks like it will be the best of the bunch.

Skyrim seems damn good and L.A. Noire was good too, but if it was a movie it would be the kind that all the critics love and wins a lot of Oscars, but not a lot of people have seen.
L.A. noire would be my vote, but either skyrim or MW3. BF3 will get graphics, but considering most people don't know about the collaspe of IW, MW3 will get the love. Uncharted, don't know don't care. Gears may get a look in but I doubt it. Portal 2 will struggle but may also have a shot.

I'd say it's a competition between Portal 2, Uncharted 3, and Skyrim. If you look at the games so far, Portal 2 is really the only one of GOTY status. And sure, Assassin's Creed, Deus Ex, or Arkham City might be good, even great, but not GOTY.
I haven't played Skyrim or even know much about it, but Battlefield 3 looks amazing, and I love COD (can you call me a fanboy? Probably not). I'm playing BFBC2 as of current, and I'm loving it, sometimes I get frustrated with it, but I'm loving Battlefield.
Portal 2 was great, although it was short lived, in my opinion, it only lasted as long as its single and two player campaign.
MW3 looks like MW2.5, but it's being developed by four teams. I'm looking forward to see what it will be like, however it's looking like MW2.5. I'm still buying both though.
