I'll go with the masses and say Skyrim, but i would be pleasantly surprised if Arkham City blew it away.

Ok that was a really obvious joke but I haven't play many of the games that came out this year
but I think the media choice will be Gears of war 3 because it is the end of the series and those normally get a lot of attention but I will pick Deus Ex: Human Revolution for 1000.

It depends on how well Catherine's puzzle gameplay works and how high Dark Souls gets my blood pressure. Most likely one of those two. Definitely looking forward to the EU release of Child of Eden as well, but I expect to spend more time in the other games.

The Witcher 2 so far is my GOTY.
Depends on whether or not Skyrim is any good. When Bethesda said that the consoles were the main platform for the game it doesn't make me excited.

Probably a toss up between The Witcher 2 or Skyrim. If Skyrim lives up to the quality of the Elder Scrolls series then it will take it hands down.

Now looking at the community of the Witcher 2 fans and Elder Scrolls ones which is as big,if not bigger than the CoD community,I think because of that and the ammount of fan base,Skyrim will be awarded the title.

No, seriously tough, if the dev team improves the last games problems (IE
oor AI, average shooting mechanics) and polishes the ambiance and story, you've got a pretty solid game.
Else, i'm a cynic that hates every games I haven't tested, so anticipation is out of the window ^^'

Every single choice for GOTY so far in this thread has been a sequel rather than an original concept - other than LA Noire. Sure - those sequels can be great games; but it seems to me that developers are just getting lazy and sticking with steadfast ideas rather than being creative.
Team Bondi and Rockstar get my respect and GOTY nomination for that. And the game was very very very awesome.

I predict a three-way battle between Deus Ex 3, Uncharted 3 and Skyrim.
