Nobody yet?
oh come on...

For a super-sized dreadnaught capital ship:
USS Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann

Something nonsensical that sounds awesome. Like Revelation Space ships. A pair of the major ones:
Gnostic Ascension, Madonna of the Wasps, Nostalgia for Infinity, Silence Under Snow, Third Gazometric, Transfigured Night, Zodiacal Light

Good way to name a 4 kilometer long lighthugger.

USS Hand Of Death
USS Reaper's Slave
USS Morbid Apocalypse
USS Maw Of Pain
USS Womb Of The Damned

Because it's always confusing when the good guys sound like the bad guys.

Or, the USS Huntmaster, in reference to the Alestorm song (which is about Jagermeister!).

The Light of the Orange Band sounds pretty cool.

I'll stick with that until I think of a better one.

I would name my ships after mythical or fantasy swords and starships:

USS Naegling, USS Sunfang, USS Callendor, USS Sange Yasha, USS Thunderchild, USS Errant Venture, USS Jerle Shannara.

I'd have to look up more!

I would have something like the "USS GreyArea" or if not that then "HMS Hand Of God"

Serious answer: A name from classic mythology, very likely either Loki or Prometheus. Something that lets you think "overstepping boundaries, rising above odds, questioning the foundations of the universe and breaking them down"
Joke answer: The USS Killbeastbuffet
BADASS answer: Angelslayer, Soulfucker, Heavenpiercer, Hellcruiser

I would under no circumstances give a name to a starship prefixed "USS". The Federation can fuck off.

If I could just give it any name I always used to like the "Gethsemane", because biblical names have a certain air to them and I thought it meant 'Sarah's Field'(long story, don't ask). However I've since learnt it means something like 'olive oil press'. The "Damocles" is probably what I'd go for now.
