Basically, choose the DVD that you most want to survive throughout the ages, that future generations need most, knowing that all other stories mankind has ever made are at risk of fading from the collective human memory.

Not really, just one that you'd want to watch over and over. It's slightly different. I'm not 100% sure that the Big Lebowski is my number one favorite, but I wouldn't want to live without it.
