I'd name it after my late dad's college band.

ALTAR EGO.

with the tagline for bonus points, "Sacrifice your sanity."

Munro Kelly.
Because the band I'm in is called Munro Kelly.

Oh joy hail to coincidence and light 'n' shit.

I'd name mine "Captain Deathwang and His Glorious Multicolour Army."
Why? Because it hasn't been done before and it'll wind up my lead guitar best friend, who I would be dubbing "The Captain"

Nuclear Laceration!
It sounds like an incredibly stereotypical metal band name, and that's why I like it.

But the band I'm actually in is called Chill Pill Overdose, another idea I came up with a while back

I've already thought of this, actually. I'd actually love to be in a band, playing drums, with a single other person - a girl, who would have lead vocal duties, since I can't sing and I kind of like female vocals instead of male ones when listening to folk rock and indie rock (the type of music we would play) - though she would also have to be able to play guitar too...

But yeah, my band name idea would be Northern Downpour. It's a two-part reason, first of all it's a bit of a homage to the song 'Northern Downpour' by Panic! At The Disco, who I love. And second, it's linked to the fact that in my adopted city, Leeds, we're in the north of England, and it tends to rain a lot (it's meant to be summer yet rained almost non-stop this evening, the path in the park was like a river and I got soaked to the bone three seperate times...).

My friend came up with PAGES of stereotypical death metal band names. It was beautifully br00tal.

My favourite was Vat of Boiled Children. All completely harmless words until you put them together. XD

Red Mage Trio: it would consist of me and two friends who are only capable of playing average-souning music. Y'know, not awful but not awesome.

Popcorn Fairies. If I ever find people who could play instruments I would so copyright the name.

Shouldn't you copyright it beforehand just in case? Especially now that you've shared it publicly here?

I don't have a band, nor do I have any desire to cull the talent to create one. I love listening to classic and alternative rock music (big fan of RXP101.9) and I am fascinated by the various band names. I have always wondered what I would name my band if given the opportunity. This morning I came up with my band name, FINALLY and just wrote a blog post about it, but I was wondering what everyone else's band names would be. If you have a band, I'd love to know the name you came up with!

Anyway, here's my wacky band name: FUDGE BUNNIES WITH HAND BASKETS
I love it. It has a story, and I have had it for decades, I don't know why it never occurred to me that this was my perfect band name all along!

I have a great band name.
"JEDI MIND TRICKS"
I actually think that's a rap group, unfortunately.

I'm trying to push the name 'Deliverance' for my band (we're only just starting up) just because I'm the banjo player. It's a rock band, by the way. No, we are not attempting to emulate Mumford & Sons in any way. I can't stand them.
