can explain a logical reason for a female courier to help a caesar's legion. despite the fact that females are slaves and treated like breeding cattle. if you can i would like to hear it; especially if you are a female. if have a logical reason my fifth character who will support caesar's legion will be a female
Depends on what you view as a 'logical reason.' There was a talk I listened to through this website on game theory, the speaker for which argued that all people behave logically they simply have a different idea of how the universe functions, different goals and so forth. It's a sentiment I agree with. The suicide bomber is not being irrational, they are simply being and acting rational by a set of rules you don't agree with.

Therefore all you really have to do is change the characters point of view. There's plenty of women out there already who think that women should be subservient to men and 'treated like breeding cattle.' Go look at some cults or fundamentalists from any Abrahamic religion. She could have a fucked up world view, or she could simply get off on being treated like dirt(she certainly wouldn't be the first woman[or man] to do so.)

She could also be a power player as crazy as that may sound. China is and was a male dominated society and yet during the Tang dynasty a woman named Wu Zetian managed to grab power. She murdered or otherwise got rid of several of the Emperors other concubine and his wife. Then Zetian got her children positioned as the primary heirs. The Emperor had a stroke and her children were still too young so she took over ruling for them. When the eldest got old enough he demanded that she step down, so she murdered him with her secret police. The rest of her children were then either murdered for fled the country while she consolidated power. The uh third son did come back eventually as I recall, but he abdicated the throne to his mother before he was allowed to do so. There's no reason an equally ruthless woman couldn't try the same with the Legion. Caesar seems like the kind of guy who would want to claim 'ownership' of a powerful woman and dominate her so that he could inflate his ego even further. Crazier things have happened in history. And Caesar is already getting up there in age, I mean the guy does have a brain tumor.

Nine times out of ten I will use Eleu(thera) at least for a first character. When replaying a game I will mix things up a bit, depending on the type of character I plan to play.

Eleu is more often then not a ranged dps (hunter, sniper, etc.) type of character, with more or less my personality (but female).

My favourite so far has been one of my Oblivion characters, The Chin, a Redguard I made horrifyingly ugly with a huge chin. Maxed his speed as fast as I could, then Alteration because it's hilarious seeing those short, stumpy legs running faster than just about anything else in the game.
Had something along the lines of a High Elf named Douchebag McShitstain for my main in Skyrim due to every other High Elf in the game being a dick as I found in my first playthrough.
As for Fallout and other RPGs, I can't really remember any others, didn't keep track of all my characters or give them meaningful names until recently.

I try to come up with a name that responds to race and game Im playing (at least in my mind).

Oblivion: Ashynis Flametongue - mage
Skyrim: Grogh Al'Kell - orc fighter
Fallout: Ezekiel Bluff - I just love that name
Arcanum: Petunia Whitlebottom - silly name but a powerful wizard

My Fallout 3 character was called "Davy Jones Locker filled with Meat" (Looked lulzy as when I read contracts about me). My Oblivion character was a Redguard and he was called "NIGGANIGGANIGGA" because..... F:NV was called Trace, as was my first Skyrim female Nord. My second Skyrim character, a male Imperial, was called "my vagina" because of all the brotherhood contracts and messages put out for me "I need you to scare my vagina.".

I never play such games seriously.

Well...
Fallout 3 I had Barnabus, a ranged fighter with good karma, Zachary O'Neil, a mid-range fighter specialising in hit-and-run
and a deception/speech based character called Arthur Conan Doyle (mainly so the Wasteland Survival Guide would be written by the inventor of Sherlock Holmes)

In Skyrim, I have Arthur Winterman, a very, very old Breton with a checkered past who tries to do good, but occasionally falls to temptation.

In New Vegas, I have Jack Rickaby, an independant Vegas supporter with a talent for deception, and Charles Maxson, a highly charismatic and intellegant, but physically weal, eccentric with a thing for SCIENCE!

My Shepard is called Ichabod, and is mainly Paragon, but he does have a cruel streak and he does not suffer fools gladly.

As a side-note, my father is often found on his XBox, where he has a tendency to name all of his characters "Dad"

I tend to name female chars Christine, since thats my computer's name.

But with guys I tend to mix it up. It's usually Dexter if I'm playing a mage for some reason. You'd think that'd be a better name for a thief right?

Oooh! In my last run on Torchlight I named my destroyer Shaw, so the dog could be called Shank ^_^

Your character is infertile, is tough as nails, and is extremely crazy. She's one of those people who simply feels that need to dominate others. She measures her own worth in her strength and speed and viciousness. First instinct is to fight, and she'd never trust a gun. Have fun with your melee-only, half-insane amazon warrior. Her ultimate goal is to beat the stuffing out of Caesar and take his throne, proving to all that she is the strongest being in the wasteland.

Anyways, as for my characters, they are pretty much always named after me. If I can put a name in, it's always my name. I always sit around at these dialog choices, and make a decision based on what I would do. Sometimes the designers classify this as "Good", sometimes they classify me as "Evil", and other times I just sit in the middle of their charts because I kill or spare too many people to be at either end of the spectrum.
There are a couple exceptions:
-Reginald Pufferpants, Esquire
This character was my second in Fallout 3, pretty much the exact opposite of my first. Melee-only, Ignorant, Racist, Science-hating, and genuinely stupid. Committed 100% to the idea of British Colonialism, despite never having been to the UK, and living several hundred years after the time period he's emulating. He's a rather fun character to play, just for the combined fun of roleplay and being a complete jerkwad to most of the inhabitants of the wasteland.

-Howard (The Argonian)
This is my second Skyrim character. He's a tiny, frail little argonian who is going to specialize in hand-to-hand combat. That is, if I can't find a mod to let me dual wield shields, and specialize entirely in blocking and shield bash.

Either whatever comes by default or some randomized one.

I want to play the damned game not spent time naming some random character that dosnt even affect the game in any way at all!
It doesn't effect the game on a technical level, but for some it can effect the game on a mental level.

Game with blank slate characters are like that for a reason. It is for people that want to create their own style of character, not just in looks, but with a name and back-story. Depending on the kind of person players create, the players can reason why their character might doing something. Basically, it beings more in depth story, the player's personal story for their character. Think of it as the joy an other might get from writing. It brings that type of joy on top of the normal fun of playing the game.

I find that a care about my character and am more likely to play him or her longer if he or she has a back-story and such. I normally don't do it with MMOs, but in my latest stint on Lord of the Rings Online, for the first time, I actually wrote a back story for my character, and I've found that it's brought more meaning and fun to playing her.

But anyway, to each their own style of play. Some people play games to just have basic distracting fun, others like to make their experience more than that.

I just stick with the name I use here Karcentric, if I use a female character I tend to stick with Sophie, no idea I just like it as a name.

That's the guy.

It various pretty randomly - current Skyrim character is a Breton named Nikol Voras, after Nicol Bolas.
A joke in college has also lead to the recurring creation of Küntpünt, a pink-haired butch lesbian whose philosophy in life is that absolutely everyone is out to kill her, so her best chance for survival is to kill absolutely everyone first.

Dhallus & Kobalt for male characters. Evil and Good respectively.
Neiya for female characters.

All named after characters from a video game I'm trying to get made. (but lack the creativity to make.)

in all games (use the next name on a second/third/fourth playthrough):
If male,
Arie Janssen
Leo Janssen
Fred Janssen
Jeff Janssen
if female,
Ans Janssen
Els Janssen

It all started with arie in fallout 2
The rest was added while playing the fallout tactics multiplayer.
Since then those are my char names.

that make some sense but honestly melee only seems impractical to limit the weapons i would use to just melee or unarmed
if female courier wanted to prove that she is "strongest being in the wasteland"; independent seems the right faction to support not the legion
edit: on second thought if said character used lots of drugs then it might be pretty good. but that would not work well with being in the legion
