The big one is Totalbiscuit.

I just got sick of, and I have to say this, typical PC elitism. As a primarily console gamer (but dabble on PC) I know whats the pro's and con's of each, I am WELL aware of them. He just used to hammer on and on about how much better the PC is ... like, ok, I get it!

He is also very up his own arse, this is my opinion and now I will stick my fingers in my ears and LA LA LA over you and lastly, he would spend SO. MUCH. TIME hammering on the same one singular point for 10+ minutes. I get that it's good to restate your opinion in 2 or 3 different ways to make it absolutely clear what you're saying but when you get to 6 or 7 different ways of saying the same thing ... you're just beating your point into the ground.

Dude is hard working, has great production values, knows his shit, can get good info, quite intelligent but I just couldn't take (what I perceive to be) the negative parts of his personality any more.

I liked TotalBiscuit and still kinda do in small doses. But I know EXACTLY what you mean about him being up his own arse - maybe it's just the Southern accent. Maybe it's his slow, faux-outraged and deliberate tone. Or maybe that he opens each 'WTF Is' video with a twenty minute stint on how the options menu doesn't offer enough gamma adjustment sliders.
HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO PLAY WITH 60FPS GUYS?! THAT'S INHUMANE! YOU CAN'T FORCE HIM TO PLAY LIKE A CONSOLE GAMER!

AVGN - gotten boring overtime. Don't care much for most of the content.
PocketNow - Turned from the 2009 geeky mobile device group into a predictable hipster "but metal and design" channel.
TechnoBuffalo - don't watch enough, and called the Shield Tablet "but it plays Trine 2!" a good gaming device.

Colledgehumor and Cracked, for the same reasons, A) they got too preachy and political without actually being thought-provoking or original, B) the vids got way less funny C) the uploaded so much stupid shit and it just spammed up my inbox with all this worthless stuff (more CH than cracked, but yea).

Can't really remember anything else, there probably has been, but it obviously wasn't important or i wouldn't have remembered it.
The only people I've seen do preachy well is Penn and Teller: Bullshit.

I think the formula is they come right out of the box with their opinion, and they break the 4th wall the whole time to make arguments while trying to be funny/convincing.

And I've never seen them talk down to their audience.

Sure they aren't perfect, since they're biased and their selection of people to defend the opposing side isn't always that great, but at least they admit to being biased.
I've heard good things about Penn and Teller. I might just go check them out. Thanks!
Avoid the taxes episode, they got a little extreme on that one.

Best ones in my opinion are the war on drugs episode, the Lie Detectors episode, the one titled Death Inc. (whatever your guess is, you're probably wrong) and 12 stepping.

Their episode on the death penalty got me to change my stance but they rely more on opinion than normal for that one.

Also avoid most of the environmental episodes. I heard those are kinda sketchy.
Sounds a bit like last week tonight, you seen that show? It's kinda like the daily show/colbert report, only the host is actually an incredible investigative journalist, both in practice and in terms of his morals. It's opinion for sure, but the guy knows how to make and support a good argument.
I've seen clips on youtube and I think I've seen an episode or two.

It's not the same. Penn and Teller aren't a talk show and they don't do current events that won't be relevant in a year or so. Out of their 89 episodes only 2 have become completely dated, the one on the 2012 Apocalypse and the Ground Zero episode about why nothing's being built on the site of the world trade center (since then they've made major progress on the 'freedom tower').

They say their side, get people on both sides, and make jokes and arguments. They are biased so the people they get on the other side aren't always the best but they say they don't take anyone out of context. I've also never seen an episode where they don't address the biggest/most popular arguments in favor of whatever side they're against.

Thunderf00t. I like his science stuff, I used to like his creationism mockery but this new feminist drama is getting out of hand.

We get it. Rebecca Watson and Anita Sarkeesian (Jonathan McIntosh) are idiots. Move on. It's the same reason creationism got boring for me. It's the same old arguments, the same old fanaticism. It's not interesting or even entertaining anymore.

I'll watch InternetAristocrat for the Tumblr feminism mockery. He has a much more frivolous attitude and I watched his videos since before he was even InternetAristocrat,. Wan't a fan of his cisgender video but he probably has a better understanding of the term now.

Anyway this really isn't the topic for this. So I'll also say I know a number of people have unsubbed because of the political/moral ideology of a channel. I'm subbed to Errant Signal partly because I like his moral views on things. Though some consider him to be too liberal or a SJW. *shrug*
Ugh, my biggest problem with Errant Signal is that the guy's just so goddamn boring. Like, he has some really interesting views on things, I don't always agree with him, but I like hearing his opinion. If he could just figure out how to state it without making a fifteen to thirty minute long video that's pretty much just him talking, then I'd be on board. But after a while I just kinda start to tune him out and I feel I don't get as much from his videos for that.

...Though I also admit that his video on DX:HR kinda pissed me off. Not everything needs to have a deeper meaner, and marking a game down because you can't find one is pretty bullshit. Though I guess that's something that a lot of people liked about the original Deus Ex.
You know, that is a completely fair point. I'm kinda used to really dry videos like his. Though I think his voice actually has more inflection to it than other similar YouTubers that I like to listen to. BunnyHop can be pretty dry but Matthewmatosis is the driest of the dry and I still listen to what he has to say. I'm one of those weird ones that will watch/listen to a video about 5 times to absorb all the information. I like them long like that too, as I can just listen as I draw things for three hour sessions. I know a lot of people don't have time for that though.

Also, So far, I haven't been so attached to a game/franchise that I've gotten angry over someone's opinion of it. I guess Matthewmatosis can be really full of himself at times, but as nit-picky as he is, it is just one guys opinion and he does make fair points.

And I noticed your post on unsubbing from Rooster Teeth - mind if I ask you to expand on that a bit? I'm just trying to get a feeling of how they were when they first started. I actually got into them really recently (A friend of mine's a huge fan of theirs, and she wore me down) though I mostly just listen to them while I work on some of my various art projects.
Yeah, my last comment was pretty misleading.
Honestly, I watched RoosterTeeth mostly for Halo kills of the week and "this is" videos. The Halo videos got old after about a year of watching them and the "this is..." series became so infrequent that it wasn't worth watching anymore. I never really enjoyed their comedy stuff even in the beginning so I honestly can't say if they've gotten "worse" when, in truth, I wasn't really a fan to begin with. They did come across as more mainstream and commercialized when I kept watching them though.
Machinima has the most obvious shift in tone the last 4 years or so. That channel used to be more educational believe it or not.

The Game Theorists: The videos got WAY too clickbaity with the thumbnails and titles.
Interesting reason. I unsubscribed from PewDiePie and other popular channels because of that, coupled with dumb content and all-caps titles. It shows a real lack of faith in one's work when it is titled "THROWING BABIES [Game Title] PART 2" or whatever.

The Game Theorists are still perfectly valid and quite sound in their arguments, though. The soundness of their theories is surprising and manifests itself over time.

Machinna - Back in the day when they were the smaller Halo central channel focused primarily on actually Machinima it was great.
It was the home to Arby 'n' the Chief and all sorts of wacky videos from very random people who were brought on due to their talent.
But now days Arby 'n' the Chief is long gone, Halo is long gone, any actually Machinima is gone.
Now all that's left is crummy news videos filmed in a cheap fashion around their office.
The hosts aren't funny and honesty many other channels do the news better.

Any good content is either over or moved on elsewhere and the community is the kinda of "L0L XBONE TOPKEK" thing which I despise.

The Amazing Atheist - Whilst I enjoy is videos about Atheism and the bashing of nutjobs, his channel switched out of Atheism and into just being an anti-Feminist channel, not to mention the consistent videos about Justin Bieber. I mean sure Justin Bieber is a bit of a douche, but CJ has made like a million videos bashing him.
I liked him when he was just doing Atheist stuff, but apparently that doesn't get the views.

Alex S - A dub step artist who grew himself out of literally nothingness into fame by creating Brony dubstep (and quite good ones too), however he abruptly stopped making Brony dub step.
Now don't get me wrong, I didn't unsub just because he left the fandom, but I unsubed due to his abhorrent attitude towards the fandom, claiming that they were holding him back, despite being the very thing which got him where he is.
Not surprising while all his Brony dub step has over a million views, all his recent stuff has like 24k, most of the comments still being from Bronies.

MikeB aka Fony - As someone who loved MMO's I loved his in-depth videos on MMOs which not only were more detailed than most, but also fill up of humour. His "BFF Report" among others was fantastic.
However now days he doesn't do any of that, instead he has switched over to a generic indie game let's play channel full of garbage.

Rooster Teeth - Granted I never really had much to do with them on YouTube, however for many years I had been religiously watching their content on their website, I was even signed up for the actual monetary subscription.
Red vs Blue was great, their Skit show (shorts) was great, their other stuff like Immersion was great.
I loved it all.

However now days their content is obsessed by let's plays, Minecraft and the like.
Red vs Blue has gone dramatically downhill, RWBY is something I don't get how people like and most of their content I feel has had the wit taken out of it.

Rooster Teeth's audience tends to be very young (tweens/young teens), which is fine, I don't think that alone is a bad thing.
Maybe their audience was always that, because it was that age when I loved them and maybe I just grew out of them.
They've never been bigger and I am really happy for their success, but they're no longer for me.

The Young Turks - Yeah, it's a liberal channel but it's gotten to the point where they go a bit to left on many matters. They call out FOX News for spreading bullshit but they then do exactly the same. "Us versus them" nonsense. Pot calling the kettle black. My last straw was when they ran a video titled "Why religious children are stupid". We get it, religion isn't for everyone and it's certainly not for me but just because a person believes and follows a religion, DOES NOT make them automatically stupid and calling children who believes in that, is a pretty low low move. Their comment section is very toxic too and I just had to get out if there.
That whole debacle over the studies by Corriveau, Harris, and Chen was pretty eye-opening as to how much of the left has adapted the worst tactics often used by the right. For the record, the professors strongly disagreed that "religious children are stupid," and actually took to say that their research -despite how some framed it- did not support that assumption.

I can say that you are certainly not alone in feeling frustrated and repulsed by many of the louder, less intelligent leftist political pundits, as I have found myself in that same position. So, welcome to the club, good sir or madam. It really has gone to show that our political discourses continue to fracture, and as they do, the left gives into fear, prejudice, and thoughtless ideology seemingly almost as much as the right does at times.

Speaking of people adapting the worst qualities and tactics of their opponents, many have brought up Amazing Atheist. Yeah, I love science videos on YouTube, but after hearing about A.A.'s meltdown where he verbally bullied a rape victim on reddit, I blocked his channel. Yet, sometimes he will still pop up in my recommended feed, and I don't know if there is any way to permanently solve this. I subscribe to channels like SciShow and Partially Examined Life, so some of the sophomoric hacks like him will show up from time to time, probably due to paid advertisement on YouTube.

Here is some more info on that study. Yes, these are the authors of the study in question saying: "Some media reports about our research have said, on the basis of these results, that religious children cannot tell fact from fiction. We doubt such a conclusion is warranted. Our interpretation is different." So, if it makes you feel better, the authors of that study think YoungTurks are pretty much making up a conclusion that is not there. Here is a link. Yeah, it is Side-boob-post, but what can you do?

I can't say I've ever unsubbed from a channel, but I have stopped watching.

Game Grumps It was becasue JonTron left, I know that's probably stupid but I don't like the show as much anymore, I miss JonTron.

Yogscast I'm not sure if this one really counts cuz I never was all that interested in them but I did watch alot of their Minecraft playthrough before I realized how childish they were and discovered that their audience is actually almost entirely children and noticed how much they pandered to them and it just kinda killed it for me.

"Game Theory: Are Video Games Anti-LGBT?"
"A Gandalf Summon in Final Fantasy?!"
"Game Theory: Are Gamers Killing Video Games?"
"Sonic '06 is the DEVIL...Literally!"
"Game Theory: Mario is COMMUNIST?!?"
"Banjo-Kazooie a Dynasty Warrior?!? AND MORE - Crossover Lightning Round"

I thought enough was enough, even if they explain themselves in the video. Except that Banjo-Kazooie being a dynasty warrior, that one was a complete lie.

Pewdiepie I guess. In that case, I think it was more boredom than anything.

I should also really unsubscribe from Kwebblekop as he's super fucking annoying to listen to and watch, but there's something about his videos that calm me down if I'm feeling angry. Maybe it's because I fantasize about punching him in his face when I watch his videos.

I kinda just abandoned Youtube as a whole a few years ago. I had a channel and was subscribed to people and commented often and was fairly in there, but then I just got tired of it all and stopped completely. I think I unsubscribed from Machinima (could be thinking of someone else) for flooding my new releases with Happy Tree Friends - I hadn't even subscribed to them for that!
