Wizard's First Rule. It is the first book in the Sword of Truth series that the TV show Legend of the Seeker is based off of.

Regardless, Its a Terry Pratchet book with Moist Lipwig, anyone know the title?
Going Postal, or Making Money? I think they were the only two with Moist in. I have them both here somewhere.

I've just finished reading 'John Dies at the End' - David Wong, which was, perhaps, even funnier than the Discworld novels.

I'll be starting either the next book in Brent Weeks' Night Angel trilogy or a Bernard Cornwell historical fiction next, depending on my mood.

What a coincidence! I hope you enjoy it, I did very much and about to start the second book.

I'm reading a bunch of books about the nature of Art for a class I'm taking. Really interesting stuff so far. I think people should really spend more time thinking about what art is (since we consume so much of it) instead of just taking it for granted. Currently I'm on 'What is Art' by Leo Tolstoy.

I'm pissed off because I was planning on reading the second Mass Effect book over Holiday Break (as I'll also be playing through Mass Effect again in preparation for ME2), but my English teacher decided to give us a book to read over break.

I guess I'll just forgo the books I'm interested and be forced to ignore my interest in reading for the expense of my school. Ironic, huh? Not so much ironic actually as much as stupid. Unintelligent teaching.

I figure out what book I'll be reading tomorrow. It'd better be good.

Yeah, making money. I was hoping to find some disc-world but no doubt this book will be brilliant.
It is in the Discworld setting, just a new main character. A few of the regular personalities from Ankh-Morpork show up, in particular Vetinari (who is awesome).

History of Latvian literature.
Sounds interesting. Can you summarise any of the books main points for us?
*There is proof of a writing system evolving prior to the german invasion.
*Afterwards, the first latvian books appear in the 16th century, religious in nature.
*First latvian books by latvians are first printed by the end of the 17th.
Last chapter i read was about A. J. Stender.

So tell me Escapist forum community, what books are we reading as of now? Or what books look interesting and you want to get a hold of?

I'm trying to get a hold of Angels & Demons to find out what the frick the Illuminati is. Ifm also looking into the rest of that whole Da Vinci code series thing. Also, reading Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe for class.
I'm currently reading War of the World by HG Wells (an original copy) and the book based on the Constantine film( I hate the film, I love Hellblazer, and the book is so much more in depth than the film ever was). I picked up Constantine for a dollar and thought I'll give it a chance". Well i can't put it down right now. It's a really enthralling read (even after already seeing the film).

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
It's great.
"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction; jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control freak; a vindictive , bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal , genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."
Pure frickin gold.

There's a better book for that, it's called The Illuminatus! Trilogy. It will make absolutely no sense but be compelling enough to continue with reading. It's definitely worth a read.

As of now, I'm reading World War Z again, because I needed a book to read for a school project and that was all I had lying around that I hadn't read in a while. I'm gonna read the Lord of the Rings trilogy next, though.

I'm currently trying to track down the Darren Shan series. I've gotta fill the gap until the next Dresden Files book is released! Besides, I read the premise and it sounds pretty good.

Oh, okay cool. I haven't read any of the Discworld so I didn't know. Will reading this one ruin its predecessors?
Only one of them, Going Postal, a bit. "How much is 'a bit'" you may ask, enough to read Going Postal first, I reply, since that is where the Main Character first starred as MC.
