Here's the thing though. WW2 hasn't been done to death. The Normandy, Ardennes forest and Stalingrad/Leningrad thing has been done to death. North Africa too if you count the amount of time MoH spent there across the series. That still leaves bucket loads of stuff that has either been skimmed over or not even looked at.
What about the fall of France? Norway? Italy? Greece? Borneo? Indo-china? There were also a whole load of 'sub' conflicts going on around the periphary of the USSR (Romania, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Finland - the Soviets and the British even invaded Iran at one point and replaced the pro-Nazi Shah with his pro-Allied brother). The Soviets also spent the last few weeks of WW2 tearing into the Japanese in the Far East. There's a ton of mileage left in WW2 shooters, if only developers would stop trying to top each others' renditions of D-Day.
To be fair though, I would enjoy pretty much any decent FPS that tries to at least keep one foot in the real world. Sci-fi type shooters hold no interest for me in general though. I got bored of Resistance 2 half way through. Killzone too.
Also, more flamethrowers please!
