We were hosts to the final, conclusive battle of the War of the Roses

That's THE only interesting/notable thing to come out of Northamptonshire EVER, and 99% of the population don't even know about it

I live right outside of Albany, New York, which is one of the oldest surviving cities in North America. Also SALT was filmed (partially) at the train yards here. Not that much of a plus, but still.

Pull a Helm's Deep 500 years ago. It's well-known as the Great Siege of Malta.

Spent most of my time in Astoria, Queens NY, so I guess I'll go w/ something from there.

Pretty sure Christopher Walken was born here, and we had 'A Bronx Tale' filmed here. Oh, and that blackout that hit large parts of the five boroughs a few years back? Started with a exploding transformer in front of the church a block from my building. (It got so hot & bad that the wires were catching fire on the telephone poles with no fire to start them.)

[a href="http://expo74.brandx.net/"]Expo '74[/a]...

... [a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106387/"]Benny and Joon[/a].

... and a [a href="http://www.spokesman.com/tags/jay-olsen/"]cop[/a] shot a [a href="http://www.spokesman.com/tags/shonto-pete/"]guy[/a] in the back of the head as he ran away. They were both drunk, and the cop was off-duty. As close to the [a href="http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2009/jan/13/man-shot-duty-spokane-cop-wants-city-pay/"]original story[/a] as I can find.

I live in Weymouth, England. And our town is famous because the Black Death entered England through our port.

For me, a Belfast resident, it has to be building the Titanic. Ok it was a complete failure, but it was the goddam Titanic, it will go down (no pun intended) as the most famous ship ever built.
Come on, pun intended, I think the most badass thing Belfast's ever done is continue to keep the Europa open for business, what other hotel can claim 'Most Bombed in Europe'?

I'm from Derry, and I've gotta say, the Seige, most badass thing ever done in this city. The most stupid thing they've ever done is building the Millenium Forum where they did, lets put a venue in the middle of the city where no one can park... nice....

Absolutely nothing. Mantua, OH is probably the most boring little village in Northeast Ohio. The place has barely changed since 1982. The only thing contemporary thing we have is a McDonalds and trust me... it's not for the better.

It's one letter away from Harrogath from Diablo II

Also, we had an MP called Phill Willis. I always wanted to ask him what Willis was talking about.

Apart from that...
hmmm, we have poisonous egg water (Sulphur water or something)
And apparently a lot of nostalgia for victorian times, when we actually mattered. I'm surprised steampunk isn't more popular around here.

We're a pretty old British town, so naturally we have some pretty cool history. Couple of interesting celebrities, and a lot of battles including a rather nice siege or two. Nothing particularly badass, I guess, ignoring some of those battles.
