As a writer, I'm always interested in people having cool names. So I can justify giving them to my characters without it seeming juvenile: "No, I did not just make that up. He is in fact named after a dear friend of mine..."
So forum, what's the coolest names you've come across in real life?
My Top 5 would be:
#5 Lana Jago -- I dunno why, I just always thought her name sounded cool.
#4 Troy La Combre-Gallagher -- The coolest part is how well it suits his eccentric, lofty personality
#3 Jack Hunt -- Doubles as both cool and hilarious. The ironic thing is that he's actually a very cool guy. And he's gay.
#2 Andrew Payne -- A teaching assistant for a Journalism course I did. Everyone ripped on him because he looked like Tom Cruise.
#1 Silvian Dragan -- A Romanian computer programmer from college. How badass is that name? Seriously. He also has a black belt in a bunch of different martial arts and is some sort of self-defense expert, so he lives up to the badassery of his name.
