As a writer, I'm always interested in people having cool names. So I can justify giving them to my characters without it seeming juvenile: "No, I did not just make that up. He is in fact named after a dear friend of mine..."

So forum, what's the coolest names you've come across in real life?

My Top 5 would be:

#5 Lana Jago -- I dunno why, I just always thought her name sounded cool.

#4 Troy La Combre-Gallagher -- The coolest part is how well it suits his eccentric, lofty personality

#3 Jack Hunt -- Doubles as both cool and hilarious. The ironic thing is that he's actually a very cool guy. And he's gay.

#2 Andrew Payne -- A teaching assistant for a Journalism course I did. Everyone ripped on him because he looked like Tom Cruise.

#1 Silvian Dragan -- A Romanian computer programmer from college. How badass is that name? Seriously. He also has a black belt in a bunch of different martial arts and is some sort of self-defense expert, so he lives up to the badassery of his name.

As much as I hate to admit because she isn't the nicest of people but Ebony Phoenix is a pretty awesome name.

I just have two that I can think of. One being my neighbours kid Arlo, never heard that name before. And the other is a friend of mine, Trent Cannon. It doesn't get more badass than that.

There's this girl who does the weather report where I live named Dagmar Midcap.

Helluva unique name if you ask me.

Anibal, a dramaturgist I'm working with (His name comes from Hannibal, leader of Carthage during the Second Punic War).
That and well, a director I met like two years before Assassin's Creed 2 was released, his name is Exio, after playing Assassin's Creed 2 his name got awesome in my eyes.

An acquaintance from uni had the following name: Jean-Michel Georges-Phillippe Charles-Victoire du-Varons-Marseille-Beque...

And the hyphens are correct.

Romulus Matthias the Third.

I'm sorry, such a great name. I've been told my name (Griffin) is awesome as well, but I'm not so sure. There's at least 2 other people on the Escapist with the same one.

I'd hate to come across as self-centered, but I find Xaio Majere pretty cool.

Haha, it took me way too long to get that.

Heh, sounds like a name from that infamous My Immortal Harry Potter fanfic.

Oh yeah, I forgot another one: Aoife Valentine. Although technically we've never met in person (we ran a blog together), but we're the same age and she lives in the same city as me, so we probably at least have friends in common. I always thought Valentine was a cool surname.
