Mages! I have a stealth character with light armour, Arrows, a bit o' one-handed. Need moar defense.
Have you noticed that, if you're not making your own, health potions are pretty rare? That is to say, they're everywhere, but if you rely on them and tend to take damage a lot you burn through them insanely fast. Merchants only carry a couple, and if you're not into stealing you're pretty much limited to what you find in dungeons. I had a lot of hairy moments with my first character where I'd run out mid-brawl and end up a smear on the floor.TheAceTheOne said:Low magicka: I can't heal well after a big brawl.
My major problem with combat in Skyrim - and yes, I'm aware this is my problem and not Skyrim's - is that there are just so many options. I played an Argonian, and so had Histskin, but in the frantic melee I'd often forget it. I also had a Spectral Assassin and Flame Atronach I could summon, a variety of Thu'ums, a shit-ton of poisons and helpful potions yet 90% of the time I would be either running away while hurling flames behind me or hacking wildly at something, and wouldn't have time to take a breath and consider my options. After a fight, I'd think "Hey, that would have been really useful", but there's so much stuff you can do that I have trouble remembering it all when someone is trying to remove my headTheAceTheOne said:The counter to it is that I'm currently playing an Argonian, so I can use Histskin if things get way too tight. (I feel like alt-itis is setting in though)
Sinestro the dark elf (and his racial 50% fire resistance) laughs at you.Lord Beautiful said:Because I'm a vampire, that would be fire. In a game about dragons, this isn't a particularly helpful weakness.
Isn't having a bow at night a pain in the arse anyway, regardless of the magical napalm? Maybe it's just my shitty eyesight, but when I've busted out my ranged attacks in the darkness I have trouble hitting anything more than a foot away, and I've already turned the brightness up to near-maximum so I wasn't wandering blind in the dungeons. I died once because, instead of taking down a gang of bandits, I was apparently relentless firing Soul Trap arrows at a dangerous-looking bush and letting the bastards get right up close to me and stabba my face.Woodsey said:Mages with powerful fire attacks are a fucking pain. Especially at night because they essentially blind you if they're streaming it in your face - and when your main weapon is a bow, sight is somewhat of a necessity.
