So a year or two ago, back when I still had a Wii, I decide to buy Megaman 9. I played Megaman 8 on the Playstaion as a kd, and I played 2 and 3 on the Wii virtual console, and I enjoyed them. I try 9, and holly shit was it hard to the point where I got my ass kicked by it, and I hated it. It's not I don't mind hard games, but I felt that they over did the difficulty to a point where I stayed off playing Megaman games. So, what's the hardest game you played?

Ninja Gaiden on the Nes. I wanted to punch it in the face and drop kick it from a window. Most unforgiving game I ever encounterd I think.

Amnesia: The dark descent. Not because it's difficult, I just lack the mental willpower to force myself down that spooky dark corridor. It's painful.

Also Operation Flashpoint Red River: on hardcore. You don't get any checkpoints, missions last up to an hour in length, and you spend a lot of time relying on the AI [or even worse, online people] for help. One way ticket to rageville.

World of Warcraft. One of my friends played it and got me started, and I found it incredibly difficult to keep playing it because it was just SO BORING.

In terms of actual difficulty level, probably the beginning stages of Monster Hunter. If you don't know what you're doing, the difficulty curve will kick you in the face before roasting you over a nice wyvern fire.

Stole the words right out of my mouth. I was actually playing a bit of it last night and even the easiest difficulty can be a bit punishing if you're not careful.

I Wanna Be The Guy.

It demands the kind of reactions which are impossible due to even a supercomputer from the future not being able to react to the amount and quickness of slamming the jump button.

Sorry, you talking about God Hand or DMC3?

I more or less rank them both on the same difficulty because i play DMC3 on PC with keyboard controls.

God Hand, I actually didn't have very many problems with DMC3.

To date: Tac 2, Banjo-Kazooie, Tao's Adventure: Curse of the Demon Seal, and Hard mode and above on any Fire Emblem game. I would still like to try Devil May Cry, No More Heroes, Killer 7, and God Hand, tho.

Ignoring QWOP, the hardest game I've played has got to go to the game I just now started up again... Baldur's Gate II Shadow's of Amn.

I bought it 10 years ago, beat the first dungeon for the first time maybe 3 years ago, and am just now succeeding a little bit further. Unfortunately I'm stuck on a mini-boss right now who can cast any buff or debuff in the game. If I can hit him I can usually kill him right away, but 9 times out of 10 he mind-controls half my party or alternatively stuns them. Both effects last about 120 seconds, by which point you're already probably dead.

I'm playing on the easiest out of five difficulty levels. This difficulty level is apparently the same as "Normal" (which is the one right above "Easy") except enemies deal half damage and have half the HP. So essentially if I were playing on any higher difficulty level it would be even HARDER.

But it's not just the boss himself, he's also got a troll partner who doesn't die. If he dies he resurrects as two trolls. If you kill one of those trolls he'll respawn as two more. So he just keeps multiplying. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO BEAT HIM.

Even a walkthrough basically dismissed him as another basic enemy but there's no way in hell it's that easy!

Probably StarCraft 2 multiplayer. I have never encountered anything like it.

I'm stuck in Bronze, and it's still hell.
I'm Diamond, still feel like I am playing horrible. So I guess SC2 could easily be the hardest game I ever really played.

IWBTG or ADOM, I'd say. Platformer and roguelike, respectively. Probably the latter since, you know, dying wipes your save file.
