What's the world's "strangest" game?

Strange as in concept or gameplay?
Patapon, Portal and Psychonauts.
Beating drums to move small dots, shooting portals and jumping through them to escape from an evil operating system and last but not least; exploring people's minds and pyrokinesis.

alot of games are just flat out strange (suma 51, I'm looking at you) but others hide it well. take mario for instance, the fairly obvious he's on shrooms, but racoon tails making you fly? flowers giving you the ability to throw fire? strawberries giving you the ability to fly? well what about yoshie's pink friend, who's really a bloke.

Locoroco, you guide a species of blobs to tree seeds where they sing to the tree and make it grow to get rid of some flying blobs with dredlocks.

Potty Pigeon for the Comodore 64 was weird.

you were a pigeon who had to collect twigs for your nest, but the zinger was that you could poop on the windshield of moving cars causing them to spin out and explode.

Portal gets my vote, but thats mostly cause I never really play weird games. (Not enough cash to buy em.)

Earthbound series and Earthworm Jim for me.

Strangest games I've seen, though A Boy and His Blob is up there as well.

Electroplankton is a good one. Arrange plankton to make music, and you can get surprisingly intricate. Also, best use of the Mic on the DS.

Another strange game is A Tale in the Desert. In a way, its overly normal, but I think you can call it weird because its so incredibly normal, yet it is a game and STILL FUN. No special powers, no combat, no advanced graphics, you make a character, and go bang rocks together, grow and plant grass, gather sand, mud and clay...at least in the sims theres some amusing wackiness. And yet, there is a real sense of achievement, and it has the single most polite, coherent player chat out of any game ever. I once walked home in a thunderstorm on my lunch hour so I could dry bricks. No joke.

Oh heck, Weird Dreams...what a fecked up masterpiece that was.
Holy CARP, i totally forgot about that little beauty on my Amiga 500, srsly one of the most abstract and deranged games i'd ever encountered!
Climbing out of Fairy Floss Machines, Being mauled to death by vicious rose bushes and getting sliced up by strangely determined yet unmanned lawnmowers.
Pity about the sucky controls though!

I'd have to say Samurai Legend Musashi. If you don't know why I say that, you probably haven't played the game. Suffice it to say, you swing a giant oar around which magically turns into an even larger sword which then is used to create a whirlwind 'o death.

Fun, but odd. Plus Musashi, who is supposed to be based off of the legendary Japanese samurai Miyamoto Musashi, has a strangely North American accent. It reminded me of a New Yorker.

I'd have to say something like Viva Pinata.
You control the "lives" of these little Pinatas.
They can eat each other, and you can even beat them to death!
Heck, dig a pond under a pinata that can't swim! Fun stuff.

Kudos to all those mentioning Silicon Valley and Katamari

I will add Warioware Inc.

I really want to get that game called "LOL" for the DS. You get 3 other players and you make polls and vote on who wins them by drawing pictures. And that's it!

I would also say Black & White: Battle of the Gods, how the heck can you summon a god by slicing up dead people??

strange...or "Katamari Damacy," where you're a little green man trying to rebuild planets (that your father, who happens to be the king of the cosmos, destroyed when he got drunk one night) by rolling aroiund a little ball that picks up anything it touches
Don't taunt Damacy. It was a crazy concept, but a perfectly acceptable game. As for me, I don't own any really strange games, but I rented one a long time ago, I forget the time, it was about some robot, who ran around a house on batteries, and recharged...?

Which meant you are listening to a voiceover, Seth. What were you expecting anyway, they'll get a jap to speak english?
