Whats wrong with retro?

I've mentioned it before but I feel like I have to say it again:My friends are dickheads!
I put up with them laughing at me when I decided to get an NES and N64. They think I'm wasting money because those consoles are old and in their mind old=bad! But now I have decided to buy a SNES they have reached new,dizzying heights of stupidity! They have told a bunch of people at my school about it and are coming up with bullshit claims like "Its actually a bomb!" or "You can get radiation poisoning from it!"...I think I might need new friends! Anyway the people at school think old=bad as well so of course I'm getting shit about it from them. Its getting to the point where all they talk about when I'm around is how crappy the retro consoles are and they are also claiming I'm obsessed with the past! Can anyone suggest a way to make them stop before I blow their fucking heads off with a shotgun?! Do any of you know someone like this? Can any of you suggest a good place to buy a shotgun?!

I'd say ignore it. If I were them, I'd be getting a bigger kick out of your apparent reaction then anything else. Why get so upset if they don't like older games and consoles? Who cares? They don't have to like them. You are free to, and it's apparent you do, so ignore it and move on.

I can ignore my friends but I cant ignore the people they told because the people they told are the type of person who beats the crap out of you for not being exactly like them!

Nothing. Some retro games are even better than modern ones. I'd much prefer to play a nice game of Tetris or Super Mario Bros. rather than pwning n00bs at Halo online, and I'm a freaking Halo fanboy!

Hell, if I can get choked (INTENTIONALLY NOT FIGHTING BACK TO NOT GET SUSPENDED) for saying "your mom" and both of the kids involved (me and this other kid) get the same ISS write-up and it was the first and only "scratch" on my "permanent record," then I think you should be fine beating the shit out of them and not telling anyone.

Or, if you want to be a true hero, invite them over to your house and show/prove to them how awesome the games are.

If you manage to fail at both of those options, then just ignore it and be on your way, find better people, move away, slaughter them.

I still play Mega Drive/Genesis games pretty often still. They're just good games, no two ways about it. It's not like they have a date of expiry on them or anything.
