Motown, Doo Wop, that kind of thing. I've just come out of an obsession with music from the thirties and forties, so it makes sense that I'm now currently obsessed with the fifties, sixties and seventies.

All my other musical obsessions remain unchanged and constant.

For about 4 or so months, I've been obsessed with Charon. I haven't really stopped listening to them, unless it's to listen to Type O Negative or Sentenced. I just can't get bored of them. Not yet, at least.

We all see the "What are you listening to" threads. They're all fine and dandy but there's never really any discussion. At least the ones I come across. So, rather than just what songs playing at the moment, what's the song or band you can't stop listening to? Why?

For example, I've dug up my old Powerman 5000 albums. Don't know what started it but since Friday I've let PM5K play almost non-stop. It's only been off when I've been watching TV. Brings back the old days of Smackdown VS Raw when I almost shit myself when I found out they were on there. I had been a fan of them for a few weeks, booted up Smackdown VS Raw, When Worlds Collide came on and I was like "HORRY SHEET!"

Anyway, enough of my rambling. Let the thread commence!
Powerman 5000 is the shit. Tonight the Stars Revolt, Transform and Destroy What You Enjoy especially (the albums that is, not just the songs).

However, recently I've been rather into Metallica again. Might be because my bro bought me S&M for Xmas. Damn that's a good album.
Everything in your post is excellence. Well, other than Destroy What You Enjoy. I thought that, save for a few songs, that album was pretty bad. Still, fair play to PM5K for trying new styles. It's what they've always been about.

The closest to a music obsession I have right now would probably be Clutch. Even though I'm a really, really big fan, I haven't really listened to all their albums (so far mainly Pure Rock Fury and Robot hive: Exodus), but I took up Blast Tyrant, and now I'm kind of obsessed with that one.

Also, for some while, I had a crazy obsession with Jonathan Coulton. That's kind of cooled off, but I still listen to him a lot.

I've found a renewed love for mashups, having discovered Go Home Productions, who are just one guy called Mark Vidier:

ELO + Supremes
Nirvana + Michael Jackson
REM + Luther Vandross
Sex Pistols + Ce Ce Peniston

I can't stop listening to:

<youtube=UF7rBcFolAc>

The album it's on isn't that good, but this one song is dope, I keep playing it. This is my most recent obsession with a singular song, before this it was a Jurassic 5 song.

Gorillaz and Daft Punk. Those 2 artists beat everything else for me.
Oh my gosh. You sir, are common sense incarnate. Or maybe you are an exact clone of me. Hmm, let me check. Do you enjoy Guy Ritchie films, Jason Statham, Viewtiful Joe, America, Bullet time, and Falcon punch?

OT: Jamiroquai and Enter Shikari. I just got Rock Dust Light Star for christmas, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Also, the entire soundtrack to Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. Chiddy Bang is awesome.

Deadmau5 and magnetic man, mixed with various Dubstep and D&B songs for good measure.

Guy Ritchie:Sherlock Holmes, decent movie.
Jason Statham:Badass, nuff said I like him
Viewtiful Joe, only know it for this Top 10 list in which the girl was featured
America, never been but the media basically tells me everything about it
Bullet Time, awesome at the right time and who doesn't like Falcon Punches?

Radiohead and Frank Sinatra.

Just... they're absolutely brilliant. I cannot stop listening to them both, they're so amazing!

I've been getting into metal recently. I got interested after a trip to a friends house where we played Brutal Legend for about 4 hours straight. I made the comment that the music was good and in response he put on some songs from his large library of metal. I liked most of it and I went home with the Brutal Legend OST and a bunch of Iron Maiden. Now I'm looking for some new stuff to expand my scope, would any of you have any suggestions?

All things Orchestral and songs by Daft Punk. I'm in a varied mood.
A couple of Korean songs as well, just because.

Addicted...hmmm not so much, I switch my music around a lot. But I have been listening to The Red Hot Chili Pepper's By The Way and Californication albums a damned lot lately.

Same as my obsession normally is: orchestral scores.

I'm particularly hooked on two tracks from the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack: "The End Run" and "Suicide Mission".
What a coincidence. I just bought Victoria 2 and the first thing I noticed about that game was it's insanely amazing orchestral soundtrack;
And plenty more. And Suicide Mission is by far my fav ME2 song, good gods that song was epic, the whole damned scene made me punch the air in a loud "BOOYA!!!" Only to loose poor Grunt while they held the door. He died a glorious death. *salutes* Even Miranda, the stuck-up *****, shall be missed.

Edit: Oh and Victoria 2's OST reminded me of a similar orchestral OST, namely Arcanum's:
And more like that. Gah I love it, despite it's graphical limitations (even for it's day) it's so very atmospheric, also thanks to that music.
I'd like to ask how much you're willing to part with, now I've gone and bought Vic 2's soundtrack?
Really enjoyed listening to them, thanks for that.

P.S. I don't know how you'll take this, but if you're listening to the Chilli's it's only fair to link this:

I'd recommend his other work as well.
