I listen to thrash metal, but out of all those bands I tend to play Overkill, Annihilator and Tankard the most. Does that count as an obsession or do I fail?

Basically I've just had Beach House, Weezer, and Grizzly Bear on repeat. I should probably mix it up a bit with some Crystal Castles, but who knows where I'll go next.

Recently, Dillinger Escape Plan and Machine Head (the latter of which is because I'm learning a few of their songs). Before that, Between the Buried and Me, which lasted the best part of 2010

Eagles of Death Metal.

Been listening to Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss and Them Crooked Vultures for years, but never caught on to this other work/collaboration with Josh Homme- it's pretty good. Plus, "Death by Sexy" is probably one of the best album titles I've ever heard

I've been listening to a lot of Breathe Carolina and The Word Alive lately
First person I've seen who listens to The Word Alive on here. Incredible band. I've been hooked on them, Asking Alexandria, and Greeley Estates recently.

I always turn to Porcupine Tree, particularly every album since 2003's In Absentia. Too often probably, I fear I may become bored of their albums if I listen too much.

Genius.

Addicted...hmmm not so much, I switch my music around a lot. But I have been listening to The Red Hot Chili Pepper's By The Way and Californication albums a damned lot lately.

Same as my obsession normally is: orchestral scores.

I'm particularly hooked on two tracks from the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack: "The End Run" and "Suicide Mission".
What a coincidence. I just bought Victoria 2 and the first thing I noticed about that game was it's insanely amazing orchestral soundtrack;
And plenty more. And Suicide Mission is by far my fav ME2 song, good gods that song was epic, the whole damned scene made me punch the air in a loud "BOOYA!!!" Only to loose poor Grunt while they held the door. He died a glorious death. *salutes* Even Miranda, the stuck-up *****, shall be missed.

Edit: Oh and Victoria 2's OST reminded me of a similar orchestral OST, namely Arcanum's:
And more like that. Gah I love it, despite it's graphical limitations (even for it's day) it's so very atmospheric, also thanks to that music.

I must confess I'm finding myself more and more addicted to music by Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner.
They made music? Oh god. It's like Steven Seagal and David Hasslehoff all over again!

I've been listening to AC/DC for about 19 years and I still can't get enough of them, seeing them live in June was the greatest moment of my life. I don't know what it is, those guys have got to be the most talented musicians to ever grace God's green Earth. Also, I saw Rage Against the machine at the same festival and I can't stop listening to them now; exactly the same as Steel panther.

Ah... you went to Download? I hear it was good. I went to Sonisphere, but I would have killed several people to see AC/DC.

OT: Been listening to The Damned Things new album. Guys from Anthrax, Fallout Boy and Every Time I Die, making sweet love METULZ!!!

Not really into any music right now, I can't stand metal/screamo music, not can I stand stuff with a bunch of pounding base which shakes things around it (it makes me nervous) also I can't stand stuff with a bunch of gratuitous swearing either. So my selections are fairly limited, I don't mind Weird Al except I haven't listened to him in months so I'm not really into anything right now.

Agreed, I heard some of them on my friend's iPod, I'm gonna look around and try to get my hands on their music...

This sentence (in any wording) always irks me. Not because of the religious part at the end, if that pissed me off I'd be a complete douchebag.
Take the drummer for instance. I've heard about 30 AC/DC songs now, and in very few of them does he use a different beat than the standard 4/4 rock beat. Hi-hat on every beat and half beat, kick on the first and third, and snare on the second and fourth. Crashes go in every now and then, of course. That's simple. Anyone can pick up drums and have that beat sussed in a week at most. That's not talent. Take the Shelter Red drummer, for instance.

That is a talented drummer. It takes a hell of a lot of practice and skill to get a beat like that working in your head, and manage to play it live and still hit every beat perfectly. The guitar track in that song is pre-recorded, so the drummer isn't even setting the beat, he's matching to it.

Ontopic... I'm listening to almost nothing other than Crossfade at the moment. Especially Make Me A Believer.
Should be pretty obvious why. xD

Anamanaguchi, the chiptune band, have really woken me up in some ways. Otherwise, I generally listen to the decent Dance music of Daft Punk(Discovery is my favourite) and Justice, even if I've listened to some general rock in the past. Recently though I'm getting into Overclocked Remix's Final Fantasy works, and I'm also on the hunt for Deftones and I Fight Dragons.
