As it says in the subject line, this thread is a response to the thread about foods you would never eat.

Put a food you like, which may be considered strange or revolting by other people.

On my end, I love Marmite. http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02321/marmite_2321702b.jpg

A friend got it for me from Australia, and I've loved it ever since. It has a nice bitter tang when spread over toast. To my great dismay however, I haven't been able to get it out of Australia.

If that doesn't work I could always put oysters I guess.

I seriously don't know why people don't like them. They have an amazing texture and the taste can vary depending on how they were prepared.

Damn I'm already hungry.

I'll be relatively boring and say pizza, specifically, my mother's pizza.

Out of all the variants I've tried, from international branches to local fast food stores, there is not one which can topple her pizza. Everything from the topping composition (pepperoni, peppers, mozzarella cheese and the like) to the dough is just perfection on a plate.

My grandmother's apple crumble is amazing because she makes it so wrong. It's a 4:1 ratio of crumble to fruit (yum)
Favourite that know one else likes though? Mussels, I guess? Not many people my age (18-22) like them.

Steak. Boneless rib eye to be specific. Burnt to a crisp without even a hint that it was ever pink in the least. And a bit of Heinz 57 on the side.

Also, whiskey and a cigar.

That would be a tie between a nacho gratin(was the English word I found, not sure if it's correct) thingy and a recipe for veggie lasagna I got. Just about the only two real dishes I can make and they're fucking awesome.
Out of the two the nachos probably takes the cake. Quite simple to make.
Take a huge pan, cover the bottom with nachos, put fried ground beef(seasoned as fuck) and a shitload of cheese on top of it and shove the fucker into the oven. Take it out after five minutes and add a self-made(from your body) red sauce. On top of that you put tons of sallad and peppers. Delicious shit.

However, if we're specifically talking about food others probably won't enjoy I'll throw the Swedish condiment kaviar in; smoked fish eggs, potato flakes, salt, sugar and tomato puré. Awesome condiment for sandwhiches, especially awesome with eggs.

Baklava, or how my grandmother makes it, Diabetes in cake form.

I ate so many at once my first time trying it and fifteen minutes later I nearly passed out from the sugar rush.

I think it's because I just got out of a lesbian porno thread, but you've just DESTROYED my appetite for pizza. I feel like I could go the rest of my life without eating pizza again.

On topic: pizza. Okay, no, I was wrong. I love pizza. Any kind of pizza--it's pizza! Even Hawaiian.

I don't think there's an English word for this so I'll just do a direct translation which is sausage horn.

Basically it's made from 10 dL of flour, 2 dL water, 2 dL milk, 3 teaspoons of yeast, 4 tablespoons oil cheese and ketchup.

I made a batch today for dinner and that means I can eat it again as breakfast tomorrow. I find it important that the dough is not sweet which is why I don't add sugar to it.

They look like this:

Huh... random question to Swedes... do you guys actually like surströmming?!

Anyway, my favourite food... is probably crispy aromatic duck... *shrug* But, I also enjoy baked eel, baked squid and my mom's roasted pork. No one can beat my mom at roasting pork!

As for unusual foods, ehm... not really sure, there're a whole load of traditional Chinese sweets that I like, but I don't know what their names in English are, but pretty much anyone with yellow skin'd like 'em...(!) *shrug* -.-

My favorite food? It's hard to choose because there are so many I enjoy! ..But I'd have to go with gyros.

As for unpopular foods that I like, there's Canned sardines. I like them, but I don't love them, but I may opt to eat them occasionally. I don't get the kind that are in oil, hot sauce, nor Dijon mustard though, because that's gross. But I'll totally just pop open a can and eat them straight out of the can.

I'm almost certainly biased, but I think the best tasting meal I've ever had was a somewhat experimental seafood chowder I made a few years back. Unfortunately the results turned out to be less than reproducible. My cooking style is more artistry than science and I didn't write anything down. I've made good seafood chowder since then but its never been quite the same.

4% of us, max. It's not actually something that the average Swede cares for at all, it's just that people in foreign countries aren't stupid enough to eat it, so 4% is still shockingly high popularity levels for such an abomination of a dish.

That is what you call "Pigs in blankets"? Interesting. (More of that later)

What Yopaz described looked similar to a Sausage Roll, its essentially the same thing as what you showed, although the pastry MAY be slightly different.

As for "Pigs in blankets", here in the UK we have a different take on it. A Pig in a Blanket as I know it is a sausage wrapped in bacon. It is literally a pig wrapped in more pig and it sounds like something devised on Epic Meal Time.

As for me its not so much a meal or a dinner, its an ingredient. Y'see I LOVE Chorizo. Its a type of sausage that is often smoked and it is SUPER STRONG, kinda like Perpperoni or Salami but BETTER. Its glorious in pretty much everything that it appears in, but my personal favourite is when it is honey roasted, I just love it.

Tough call, so I'm sticking with my standby, BBQ ribs.

...Not sure if I can think of any food I like other people don't, though...
