I was initially thinking maybe a Nord character split 60/40 heavy combat (plate armour, battleaxes) / summoning magic, but thinking about it I'll probably go with a Dunmer character split 60/40 destruction magic / light melee (chainmail, sword). Just to represent Morrowind and really stick it to those primitive Nords when a Dunmer saves all of their frozen asses. Plus innate fire resistance could be kinda helpful when facing down a giant fire-breathing lizard.
and here comes the fun part. They are not -just- firebreathers ;)
There's also ice and probably other elements. Of that I am certain to put down coin on.
Oh, I think we can trust Bethesda to be quite traditionalist when it comes down to things like that:
[link]http://www.elderscrolls.com/skyrim/media/videos/skyrim-demo-33-4/[/link]
Besides, that was really my secondary reason for picking a Dunmer. Even if the slopes of each and every mountain are swarming with ice dragons it'll still be worth it to humiliate the Nords by having a Dunmer rescue their kingdom.
And as such is your given right.. bunch of egoistic, furwearing, hornhelmeteers, facepainted snobs :V
But in the '1 hour demo' (the three parter) there was this point where the person was exchanging pain with a fire dragon. After he beat that one, another one immediatly swarmed down. Lo and be hold, it spew ice :3

Maybe Bethesda has other things planned. Who knows?

That was indeed the vid I linked, hence my comment about mountains covered in ice dragons. I gotta say, I was impressed with the animation during the first (fire) dragon fight when the dragon pounces on what is presumably a henchman, picks him up by the jaws and then ragdolls it's head side to side before throwing the corpse away. Brutal Nord fighter. After that I'm sure it'll be a Dunmer that does everything

A argonian mage.

The little Argonian that wants to proof he can be a mage just as well as the better suited classes.

Why? Because magic rocks, and argonians rock.

I now have mental images of questing heroes chasing after dragons screaming "You stole my kill! Bring him back! He had an Orcish breastplate you thieving gecko!".

I've always loved having the choice to sneak up/past enemies and being able to steal other people's shit to sell for big dough. I'll most likely be a Dark Elf focused on Stealth, so raise my light armour skill to make as little noise as possible but still wear armour. Most likely make myself adept in both Bows and swords, silent long-range kills are good, but sometimes you just have to get down and dirty and fight your way out of situations. Also I enjoy the power to fry things with lightning and fireballs, so Destruction magic, and depending on whatever is left, probably summoning magic if it's still in the game.

Im not sure what race yet, but i want to be an evil close ranged mage who relies on spell sheilds and quick reaction times to remain intact, as well as stealth when needed. the only weapons ill use are daggers which i craft myself and enchant. for my first char anyways, seconds going to be the nobile warrior with muscils of steal.

Of course, all of this is based on the Oblivion character creation system, but.

First: Bosmer assassin with Marksman, Sneak, Security, Acrobatics, Athletics, Illusion, and whatever Detect Life spells are in now, since they've gotten rid of Mysticism. Intelligence/Agility, sign of The Thief.

Second: Straight-up Valkyrie. Female Nord with a combat focus and some magic, probably Destruction and Restoration.

Third: Argonian something-or-other, because man am I loving their look in this game. Probably a female assassin-mage, similar to my Bosmer in terms of build but with Blade instead of Marksman. I definitely lean toward stealth classes, and if the assassin quests are half as fun as Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood line, I'll be going back to them many times.

I remember the Spear of Bitter Mercy. Fuck you, Sheogorath, fuck you. I also remember mixing and matching my armour so that the left side (pauldron, bracer) was always bigger and heavier than the right one so that my side facing my opponent when I drew my spear was always more heavily armoured to offset the lack of a shield.

...

...

If you will excuse me I'm off home now to play Morrowind again.

I shall just play, and see what happens.

I plan to make the most out of not having defined major skills.
(Probly end up being a sneaky dual wield daggers/shortswords with a bow for range.)

Definitely going as the Argonians (like I did in Oblivion). As for class, probably thief or assassin class type of build.

Dark Elf, mix of stealth and magic (partially so I can take advantage of the back-stabbing daggers and dual wield spells, but also because that's just how I play)

Totally agree with you, same here! Dunmer with daggerz, il slay all those dragons, backstab no problemo! :D
