Go for the Naked man. Works 2/3rds of the time.

Ok, so not technically flirting, but its worth a shot. Oh, I guess you could, y'kno talk to her or something. Tell her her shoes look nice, but they in no way go with that *insert item of clothing here*
Also, guaranteed to work if youre female.

Eliminate all thoughts of flirting.

To be charming, simply be polite.

Being funny can be useful, but don't be a jerk.

Have a natural conversation with someone you like, and often it can lead to romance.
This is basically what I do. Forcing anything is just useless unless you're really attractive. In addition, I try to compliment her (which I rarely do).

Be as engaging as you could, humor works best for short term conversations.
Usually people in the street don't want to have a fling, so I wouldn't bother with setting up such a goal with a girl I meet in normal places.

I don't because I can't, I'm terrible at it. Being socially awkward makes me a coward and makes everything completely awkward, so unless the men folk like that, it's not gonna happen with me.

The only thing I'd do is smile politely and go back to doing what I was doing earlier.

Pure and simple conversations. Generally the attractiveness of a person is boiled down to both personality and looks. If I'm gonna flirt with someone I may as well check that they're not someone completely incompatible with me.

Me: "Read any good books lately?"

Hot Girl: "Just finished up the Twilight Saga!"

Me: *Leaves*

(Exaggerated of-course)

Well first I walk up to them and I'm like,
"Are you Jamaican?"
..."Cause Ja Mai can me crazy baby"

Nah but really I don't have a tactic. Flirting is a make it up as you go along thing for me.

I basically cut all the fat and get into the juicy meat of conversation with compliments, then asking if they would like to talk or compliment me back, it works everytime yo.

Force a smile out of the girl, its really hard to not smile back when your given a smile while someone looks into your eyes. So body language is always first everything else is secondary.

Im married now. So my tactic is cooking her breakfast, giving her a backrub, and asking if shes in the mood.

But when i was a bachelor, my tactic was to be funny, and be myself. What if you turn out to actually like her? Whats your plan if she thinks your someone your not?
Just be yourself from the start, play things msooth, and make sure you keep a smile on her face.

Also, Rockband. Plug it in, and even if your the most amazing player ever, act like you suck. So you both can be bad at something together and get a good laugh.

Flirting? Never done it, but I probably should. I'm not getting younger and the few opportunities have slipped away far too easily. I was always the awkward/shy/this-space-for-rent person who decided to be friends first and then ask. A strategy that appears very poor as that number dwindles.

True story: I was late for work and this nice-looking/not-particularly-hot/advertise-your-brand-here young lady was sitting to my right across the aisle on the train. This was the South Shore Line from Chicago to Hegewisch and Points East. I was in a funk because I was late, my car was in the shop, and whatever else was wrong with the world, but it didn't escape me that she had been looking over at me. I'll admit it: I take a perverted pleasure in the turmoil in people at moments like this. I don't have to do anything and she'll just get more and more agitated. But I also knew that I would/could never be on the train this late on this day of the week - so I was unlikely to ever see her again. Finally, as we were getting close to her stop:

She: "Excuse me, what time is it?"

Me: "Um.. about 10:30?" It just slipped out, and it was completely wrong. I don't even know why I said that. It would be 10:30 if I wasn't 2 hours late getting to work. Her earnest expression switched to shock.

She (blurting out): "You're crazy!"

I really did intend to follow up with witty banter, when she finally spoke. Yet when she said that, all I could do was remark to myself how perceptive she was to say that. And then she got up and left. And I missed out on another one. Pity. Oh, she probably was not Happiness wrapped up in a bow, but its my loss for not finding out for sure.

No it's not. There's nothing wrong with being foreveralone.

Nothing wrong at all.

I have a horrible tendency to flirt with just about everyone, but then again I'm French, its in the culture.

Nothing really, I'm usually not an instigator though I may strike up conversation if they say something. Usually I rely on someone I know knowing the other people, being modest, having somewhere between average and handsome looks and the fact I'm almost a doctor.

I don't have one. It kind of just...happens. I do have a knack for introducing women to music and books I like, which often goes down well.

Apparently I flirt with every human. I didn't know it until my friends told me. I guess I say provocative things? I dunno. The other night I apologized for staring at a girl's chest while drunk and she said "That's okay, they're for looking!" and yanked down her shirt.
So I guess.... be oblivious? Oblivious == win?
