I created the Hat abstract data type [http://code.google.com/p/hat-container/source/browse/branches/SimpleHat/simple_hat.hpp?spec=svn26&r=26] for storing and retrieving randomly selected objects.

I get about 10 downloads of a program I wrote every week, which isn't so bad considering it's still in the alpha stage. Asides from that, pretty much anonymous.
What program is it?
It's called Revisaid, it helps users revise their own content for exams. It's on sourceforge if you're interested, but as I said...alpha software. It's getting better all the time.

Well... I have one of the highest post counts on another forum but that's only a couple of thousand anyway. So basically none.

I'm the second image in a google search of my name and have my family history available on a website going back to the 500's.

Tech wise im a nobody, in fact due to the stupidity of my username people can now mistake me for someone born in 2003.

Was top guild leader on a MMO private server for a while, and well respected by the whole server. It's minor, but was an achievement for me.

Moderately well-known on a large social board at another gaming site, because I've been there for years.

Community leader and a leader of my country in eRepublik, which is a country of about 500 players. That's about as "famous" as I get, I think.

While I have some videos that exceed 20,000 views, other than that I'm not relatively known or famous in any way, as far as I can tell.

As a whole? Unknown. But in certain communities I've been fairly popular. I was a "top" player on a Ragnarok Server (Avalon and Excalibur RO as it was known back in the day) - I was also a GM there for a while.

I was also quite well known in parts of the CS: S community for a while when I played that a lot.

I was fairly popular (for good and bad reasons) on Argent Dawn EU when I played WoW too.

It was about the Brony sub-culture and I went into a long diatribe against it.
Do you have it archived or something? I'd really like to read it.
Well, the site that I published it on removed all articles, so I'd have to dig around my own computer files to see if I still have it.

Completely unknown, however if you google Idlemessiah something like 7 of the 1st page of results are stuff to do with me, mundane stuff though, like Steam profile, FB and here.

I would think I'm about on the same level as Bruce Campbell is in Madagascar. There might be a couple people who know the name but the number of hardcore fans could be counted on a single thumb-less hand (and that's being generous to myself).

Since I joined the net I've struck out a bit. I have a youtube but don't post anything (except for one 30sec video which has 92 views). I tried a blogTV thing and the most popular video on there had about 20 views. I'm more 'famous' (using the term broadly) on deviant art where I have two accounts, one good one fetish (kind of like an AO rated Link). I'll let you guess which is the most popular and give the numbers:

18,514 (as of 4:48pmEST)
6,058 (as of 4:50pmEST)

The account with fewer views has one drawing that has been looked at 7,331 times which makes me scratch my head somewhat. The one with fewer views has also been around longer, since about mid-2007 or possibly early 2007. It's weird seeing comments from my Ex...The most viewed drawing on the naughty DA has 4,650 views. So I guess on DA at least I'm moderately known or rather, I was when I was still active. It's been a few months since I posted anything that wasn't a short story of crappy photo.

Well... Once I knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy's cousin...

And also I'm mildly well-known at a forum that's moderately large. Evidently Mr. Famous.

I'm hardly known, which is how a like it. I have my friends and that's all I need.

Though if you must know I do have a vid with almost 8000 views on the youtubes.
I wish some of my stuff was that popular ;_; My most viewed vid has 90.

Maybe I should start blogging.
Blogs? Who runs blogs these days?

Let's see now...

Back in 2001 before all that...unpleasantness that happened in NYC, I had posted my very first fanfiction on Fanfiction.net called "Heroes of Arcadia - The Gamemaster's Legacy". Back then, it was my first attempt at trying fanfic and for the source material, I had used something that was essentially the backstory for a paper and pencil RPG I was working on where you could roleplay a video game world. (Difficult to do in and of itself since this was before D20.) I was expecting the entire thing to flop since I was trying to write a SERIOUS crossover (crossovers were rarely ever serious back then) and had included a few other author's characters as well. I also included a self-insert character, which should have been an instant death knell.

But much to my surprise the fic became this sudden megahit. Dang near everyone left and right were lauding it despite the elements that should have killed it. Apparently, the fact that I focused more on the story rather than on the characters was a major plus, and several actually like my SI because apparently the older veteran gamer character was someone a lot of the readers could relate to.

Since then, the fic expanded into a full on series, with future fics that depicted life in the worlds of Arcadia. As a twist, however, several other authors started writing their own fics based on Arcadia...many of whom actually added to the main series itself, with the largest contributor being Ashura Hedgehog. Heck, I've even had the infamous Dr. Thinker write his own Arcadiafics!

Nowadays things have somewhat calmed down, since I haven't written anything new in five years, but I still get the occasional new person who put one of my fics on their favorites lists. More recently, however, a colleague of mine named FinalHazardJones actually included me on TVTropes' list of recommended Megacrossover Fanfiction. I am also presently working on a reboot of the Arcadia series which will include a more expansive multiverse right from the outset.

So...that's a measure of my greatest online achievement in a nutshell.
