Supposed teaching support tech whose job has morphed into half-AV tech, half-IT tech. Though it still basically counts as supporting teachers...

Yeah, it's helpdesking pretty much. But without quite so much screentime. There's a lot of frontline hardware hacking involved (aka "putting things in, replacing broken ones, and showing r00bs where the power button is" ;))

Student at TAFE. It takes up my time. Not to much though, have lots of free time. It's just at odd times.

I study residental drafting. Some day soon I will be able to design houses.

I manage a cigar store. My whole job is a smoke break.
I'm going to trap you in my basement and assume your identity; there will, of course, be some occasional feedings and sexual molestation. When is a good time for you?

I get paid to work out, tan, break shit and play with fire, and I get paid >$25/hour to do so.

I'm an indie game developer. I've been working on a rather big project all by myself for about a year and a half now, still a couple months away from release, and it hasn't paid me a dime so far. Used to work as a freelance Java and PHP developer before that, but I stopped in favor of devoting more time to the actually fulfilling work.

Thank feck for supportive parents who are willing to fund this insanity...

Doing a phd and being paid/funded for it. One of those things where if things are going well it's great, but if they aren't then you wish you were doing anything but it.

I'm disabled.
Mentally that is.

I cannot hold any job without going insane and driving everyone around me insane.

(I have been tested and it has been proven, I am not allowed to work a single day for the rest of my life)
What kind of test did you have to take because I think I've got that condition as well.

OT: Part-Time at a grocery store kinda thing and full-time student at the university of Iowa.

I'm currently a data manager in a videogame company. BUT! I move to a new department next Monday, and I will be a full-fledged programmer. No more buildsystem, no more annoying network issues to be fixed... It's gonna be awesome.

EDIT: Holy 400 posts, Batman!
Awesome, man! Living the dream, huh? Network issues can be a real pain, and buildsystems can be, especially if your developers refuse to use it right like they do where I work! ^.^

Nice! What kind of game are you working on?

OT: Myself, I'm a simple software developer. C# is my language of choice, and you 'nix bastards can make fun of me all you want, I love my life. ^.^

I'm actually a Temp, but my current job title is "Finance Administrator" which is really just entering bank details into a database and chasing people up for more details to put into the database.

I hear you! I feel really lucky, since I was able to get into the industry without any contact in the company. I used to be a programmer, doing regular managing software stuff (in Delphi, proudly named Dying Language #1). That was good times too, I don't regret any of it.

And nothing wrong with C#! Around here, two languages are used: C# and C++ (not counting Pyhon, Perl and all that Ruby crap, since it's mostly used for scripting).

I used to be a librarian, but for now I'm mostly "there for" my kids. My eldest needs a bit more care than other children his age. I guess you could call me a home make or a housewife.
