I also like to walk around in my birthday suit while in the privacy of my own home, at least as long as the temperature allows. I don't know if I'd be fully comfortable in a nudist colony at first, but I suspect it's something you'd get used too after a while. It's more or less just a conditioned response that we learn when we are young that nudity is not okay. But honestly I feel more comfortable when I'm out of my confining clothes and can relax.

Actually, during the victorian era, a woming showing her ankles was considered as sexy as a woman flashing most of her breasts would be now. People from that era would literally faint from embarrasment if they saw someone in more modern clothing.

Nudity...well, this thread asks about your opinion, not facts for each side of the arguement, so i'll say...I don't have a problem with it, I mean, flame me as much as you want, but i'm sure somebody will agree, I find pornography degrading to both males and females. I might just be old fashioned, but if public nudity was either law or not frowned upon, I wouldn't have a problem.

The problem people have with nudity stems from religion. The main example most will relate to is the "Adam & Eve" story. Practically God says "nudity is bad".

And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed...

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

This kinda example makes me wonder if voyeurism or exhibitionism could exist in a nude society. That said, I have faith in people's collective commitment to pursuing bizarre sex acts that they'd come up with some satisfactory surrogate.

Voyeurism and exhibitionism can exist anytime something is done solely in private. For example, if it was socially taboo to eat in front of another person, then there would be that natural voyeuristic curiousity that would cause some people to get a thrill by peeking on someone else eating a sandwich. Likewise, there would be some who would find it exhilarating to be watched while they have a PB&J. The only way to eliminate those tendencies would for it to be acceptable to do anything and everything out in public without anyone caring. Not that that's going to happen anytime soon.

This is why i go to ren faire. Not only was it considered sexy but in some cultures taboo as well. Some viewed it as a sign of class and as a sign of occupation ie prostitute.(and yes i'm jumping in and out of eras i know)

Nudity doesn't bother me. eventually i'll probably just move into a nudist colony, heaven forbid there is enough of them in so cal and so close i might as well. That being said, I wouldn't want a small child to be brought up in one. How you raise your kids is your own buisness but it would really bug me to see children running around nude.
