Every so often I want to jump for joy. This would be one of those times. The Escapist forum's done me no small bit of good lately.
Some of you may remember the thread on Off-Topic last week about BDSM. Well, there was a girl on here who lamented the lack of poll options for her kind, saying "there's no poll option for us subs." I delivered my nominee for the lamest pick-up line in the history of pickup lines:
"There's always room for subs.
"
Well, hot damn on a stick, it worked. After a day's worth of forum flirting, a few PMs, an email or two, an acquired phone number, a whole bunch of text messages, and enough dirty talk to fill the script in a porno flick (seriously, all we need is a pizza delivered and a TV repairman and you've got the whole damn set piece for that script), I think I can say with a measure of certainty that what we've got here is a relationship.
Who's the lucky girl, you might ask (if you missed the thread where I flirted with her)? Dorkette1990 and SimuLord, sittin' in a tree, G-A-M-I-N-G. It's a funny thing how shared interests go. The weird thing? On a gaming forum, it ended up being a talk about bondage that launched a thousand ships. Or just one ship. And I have The Escapist to thank. Yay! Thanks for making it possible for me to meet my new girlfriend, Themis Media!
