When did Call of Duty become an insult to gamers?

I still play CoD, but not as much as I played MW or WaW. The reason people have begun to dislike it is because of all the changes. Mostly the "Change" is that every game has one person spinning around, throwing tomahawks, firing a sniper rifle, telling everyone else that They are noobs and to "Go suck ur own cock trololololol". Other things include to much complexity with customizable killstreaks, not with the classic 3-5-7.

Popular does not always mean insulted, hell portal was popular and that's praised as one of the greatest games o all time, as is bioshock.

It's more the fact COD is incredibly overrated for a series that uses a pallete swap for a new game every year.

tel, huh?

I can tell you how MW2 improved on MW1 if you IMPROVE your grammar.

When a 16 year old tells you to improve your grammar you have some serious work to do.

It's even worse when said 16 year old obviously can't even tell the difference between spelling and grammar... i bow my head in shame (or should i say sham?)...

that was not intended, nor does it make any real sense as a reply to your post i can understand why you would think that way if you thought it was
Well while i was continuing the train of thought from my other posts i wasn't really treating your post as a reply to mine.

Basically i was disagreeing with the "you cant do something" part, as i don't believe any game is that complicated that some people just aren't able to learn them, it's not like it's rocket science. You can disregard the rest, even if it's related, as it's not directed at your post.

I mainly scoff at PC gamers buying CoD. No dedicated servers, shitty port, pretty much using the same engine for the past 4 years... it just ain't worth the greenbacks.

I find Cod fun. The campaign gets often a bit boring cause all you do is shoot, but me and my weak brain never seem to guess the next plot twist, and i like those. Sure, it's getting a bit repetitive how the guy you're playing dies, but still i like it.
And the multiplayer's ok, though often frustrating. But it does feel good when I'm winning, so...
Don't really know what to say.

because the casual gamers don't realize it's shit, and the gamers who are actual gamers that expect good quality out of 60 bucks would rather play something a bit more classy and with good writing.
%&$%# please pirate the game and save yourself 60 bucks... you think its good then buy it legit and help the developer out or if you think its crap delete and move on
I will not pirate,
and I have already played the games, and they are shit, finely polished shit, but shit none the less.

how does your point hold valid, a game should be fun, having to look every thing up in a manual is not. watch the extra credits video on tutorials please.
READING BAD, MAKE BRAIN HURT...

Seriously, some people do enjoy reading, and others, like me, hate tutorials that treat you like some sort of drooling idiot because someone might never played video games before will also need to go through it...

But as i expanded above, it's not about asking that the tutorial be there (but i for one prefer that the tutorial isn't part of the story so i can skip it, like you could for most games made around 1999-2000), it's about refusing to play a game because it requires you to read stuff... might as well say you won't watch a movie because it has no explosions... that's not a weakness of the film, but of yours.
Yeah, no need for the insults, this is why console players think PC gamers are elitist douche bags. Any way, you read for fun when its a book, something that has a story and adventure, or is interesting to you because it tells you about how you could live your life or a historical event, not reading instruction booklet that tells you how to play a video game, I'm not sure you thought out that point at all, and yes I do actually like to read. Your comparison with movies is just plain stupid, a manual is not a book, it has no story, it cant be compared to a movie that DOES have story, and is still intriguing, but no "explosions" as you put it.

And on a final point, No One said they refused to play the game, much less on the merit that you have to read a manual to play it.

CoD is alright, but the online appeal ran out for me after a few months of the first MW game, and now I only play the single player, unless I'm with friends.

Any one not made by Infinity Ward and when they fired the two guys that made the game (and Medal of Honor what it was before it took a tank curiously after they were they left as well) and half the studio up and left.

So Modern Warfare 3 On.

Nah, the hate was around December/January 2010/2011, around the release of Black Ops.
That is the game I hated too. Couldn't remember its name. Had a unlikable story and thought that they could milk us for 10 dollars for 5 freaking maps. Kiss my A** on that.

Yeah I have to agree. I wanted to name that game but couldn't think of its name.

LOL IDIOT

Spelling is part of grammar.
Keep telling yourself that and maybe one day it will be true...

Grammar and orthography (of which spelling is part) are different things in linguistics (which is why the two different words exist), and if you want to seriously criticize someone over missing a letter in a word you'd better know the difference.

But hey, i'm sure lots of people that weren't paying much attention in 5th grade use the word "grammar" like you are, so don't feel too bad... (you're just all probably thinking of the rules for adding prefixes and suffixes to words or something, which isn't spelling per se).

But there's a reason why wikipedia doesn't have a different article for american grammar, even if they spell some word differently the the brits.

Probably because so many people play it, it gets tagged as an "easy" game. I prefer Call of Duty 3, myself.

Plenty of people play chess, and yet it hasn't been tagged as an easy game...

No offense to younger gamers but the reason CoD isn't fun to play any more is that 12 year olds (generalizing here) have no respect for the game or the people playing it.
Also WoW got shit when twinks and the younger players would abuse the game.
I know you will all say there was enough "STFU NOOB" even when younger gamers weren't logged on but older players have more respect for the process not just getting achievements.

-sigh- I can tell you I was NOT doing in-depth grammar in 5th grade.
Pretty sure the first thing they teach you when you start grammar is it's definition, i added the more in-depth stuff to make sure the point gets across.

Unless you're saying that you didn't start doing nouns, verbs and whatnot in 5th grade then no wonder the communists reached space first...

There where plenty of people that didn't have respect for the process and just wanted to pwn in the old days, they're just more catered to by the devs nowadays so there''s more of them...
