So at what age did you start gaming?

The first time I remember playing a videogame was when I was three, sitting on dads knee playing Red Barron before bed, I didnt do much.. Moved the mouse around and clicked franticly. After that I remember playing a lot of the original Civ, some tank game and a golf game of some kind (does anyone remember when games asked you a question that you had to get right or it would crash and the answer was on a red sheet of plastic?)

When I was 5 I got sega master system (with alex kidd built in), by then I was old enough to know what was happening.

So when did you start gaming? Was it i the golden age of the arcade? Or the rise of sony?

Do tell

Born in 1992, first game I remember playing had to be the very first Red Alert game on PC.

So er...Some time in 1996, so when I was roughly 4.

I'm sure there was a thread about this very same thing recently...

Ah well. It'd be about the time Sonic 2 came out for the MegaDrive. We got a package deal on it as I recall.

Wiki says that was Nov. 24, 1992, so we probably got it for Christmas. In which case, that'd be about the age of 2 and a half. I doubt I was very good, but I know I played it a few times. Most of it was watching my older brother or my mother playing it.

I was born in 1988, I probably started gaming when I was three or four...
It was on a computer (with some ancient version of windows all you young uns probably haven't heard of) and I believe the game was called "Formula 1" or something. It was pretty basic, but very hard for a three or four year old. My dad was good at it though.
I didn't get my first console until I was seven, a PlayStation. Crash Bandicoot is a good ol' buddy of mine and if anyone (note: I really mean anyone) says anything bad about him they should best be prepared for a whole new world of pain.
[sup]I realise that being twenty probably doesn't warrant calling the teenagers here "young uns", but I don't care[/sup]

I honestly don't remember. I started with the edutainment Magic School Bus games. I think. It was all on PC in any case, I didn't even know consoles existed until my brother got a Playstation for his Bar Mitzvah.
Earliest non-edutainment game that I remember the name of is Civilisation. I grew up with that game and its sequel. Not III or IV though, never got into them :p

But yeah, gaming for as long as I can remember.

One of the first memories of my life is sitting on the floor of my best friend's house in Florida playing Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest on the SNES. I remember slowly reading aloud the text and my BF's mother would tell me what it meant. I learned reading comprehension from that game. :smiles:

Funnily enough, I don't remember the plot though.

This is the first game I have memories of playing.
This, except I was born in 1989. My first memory of gaming was playing that very game at a cousin's house when I was about four or so.

Well the first game I had was Duck Hunt for the SNES. Had a light gun and everything, it was awesome. So that must have been when I was about 8/9 I think.

Got a solid 10 years of gaming behind me now, wow I must have wasted a lot of my life so far pressing buttons....

I was born with a Sega Genesis in the house so I spent my time playing Sonic 1 and 2. I had that for the majority of my life and only sold it to a friend a couple of years ago.

I think I remember being somewhere from 3-5 playing atari with my older brother, or perhaps it was EGA duke nukem on the PC.

Edit: Actually it may have been paganitzu, pango, or space wars on the old pc. The song from pango was like a lullaby, I still have it in my head today.

The first game I remember playing was the lightgun game built into the segamaster system. I don't know if my parents had it before I was born or if they bought it after I was born, But I have very fond memories of that game. good times...good times. the first system I bought myself was my Super Nintendo when I was like 7. My parents bought it so I could have it, but I paid for it with my allowance over time. At 3 dollars a week, it took along time to pay that sucker off. And it was the bundle that came with Super Mario AllStars.

I honestly don't remember.
But probably not, the draw distance was about ten metres, so destructible tires would be a bit of a stretch.
